Chapter 69: I’m Still Your Fan
The owner of the Samoyed quickly calmed the dog down and handed it over to the nurse, then hurried over to help Meng Yier up, his face full of apology.
"I'm so sorry, truly, miss, are you all right?"
Meng Yier, though unhurt, was pale and shaken. Seeing the owner's sincere apology, she forced herself to smile despite her lingering fright.
"I'm fine, just startled, that's all."
The owner seemed relieved when Meng Yier smiled, thinking she really wasn't hurt, and said apologetically,
"It's always so well-behaved, I don't know what happened today—it suddenly ran into you. Thankfully, nothing serious..."
Standing behind Meng Yier, Yan Yichen suddenly stepped forward, pulling her behind him. His jet-black eyes flashed with fierce severity, his voice icy and devoid of warmth.
"If something had truly happened, could you have taken responsibility? As its owner, please take better care of your dog."
"You're right, sir. I will be more careful in the future..."
The Samoyed's owner gave an awkward smile, his gaze lingering on Yan Yichen's face, first puzzled, then replaced by excitement.
"Hey, I think I know you—you're Yan Yichen, aren't you?"
Yan Yichen stiffened, only then realizing his mask had disappeared at some point. He instinctively pulled his cap lower.
He replied coldly,
"Miss, you must be mistaken..."
But the Samoyed's owner was grinning from ear to ear, rambling in excitement, her voice rising several pitches.
"No way, I can't be wrong—you really are Yan Yichen! I'm actually your fan, there's no mistaking it."
Though he wore ordinary casual clothes and a hat, his aloof, otherworldly aura could not be concealed. One glance was enough to captivate, making it impossible to look away, tempting curiosity.
With the mask gone, his face—in its most natural state, untouched by makeup or camera filters—remained breathtakingly handsome, impossible to hide.
He stood tall and commanding; his fair skin carried a hint of bronze. Under the cap, a fringe of long, wispy hair brushed his smooth forehead, falling to thick, long lashes.
His features were sharply defined, deep and striking like a Greek sculpture—angular, stunningly handsome. His dark, fathomless eyes glimmered with a wild, seductive charm. Thick brows, a high nose, perfectly shaped lips—all spoke of nobility and elegance. His chiseled features were regal, exuding the aura of a king who could command the world.
"Yan Yichen?"
Hearing the Samoyed's owner, the surrounding crowd began to gather, curiosity piqued, murmuring among themselves.
"Yan Yichen? He really does look like Yan Yichen."
Yan Yichen and Meng Yier exchanged helpless glances as the crowd grew larger.
"We're doomed—they've recognized me," Yan Yichen thought bitterly.
"I can't believe so many people know him..." Meng Yier stared in disbelief at the increasingly chaotic scene.
"Yan Yichen—"
"Yan Yichen, I love you—"
