It’s over.

The old matriarch looked bewildered and asked, “And you two are?”

“We’re from Longhai Group.”

Upon hearing this, the old matriarch’s eyes crinkled with a smile. She hurriedly said, “Come in, come in, please. You’re here to discuss tomorrow’s project, aren’t you?”

“We won’t be coming inside. Miss Tang Yilin, please hand over the contract.”

The old matriarch paused in surprise. “The contract? Why do you need the contract?”

“The person in charge has been replaced. Miss Tang Yilin is no longer part of the project. We’re here to retrieve the contract.”

“What?!”

Tang Dajiang was stunned.

Jin Xuemei stared at Tang Yilin in astonishment.

The old matriarch nearly collapsed to the floor.

“You—you two, are you joking?” the old matriarch asked, her voice trembling.

The two visitors didn’t waste words. They turned to Tang Yilin and said, “Miss Tang Yilin, as we discussed over the phone, please hand over the contract.”

Jin Xuemei, Tang Dajiang, and the old matriarch all looked to Tang Yilin.

Under their gazes, Tang Yilin lowered her head in shame and handed over the contract.

As soon as the two men left, the old matriarch’s eyes rolled back and she fainted.

“Grandma!”

“Mother!”

Everyone rushed to help the old matriarch onto the bed.

“What happened? How could the duck right at our lips fly away?” Jin Xuemei was so furious she nearly cried. Her dream of being a society lady—her high-society aspirations—were shattered.

Tang Dajiang was even angrier. Without the contract, how could he indulge himself? How could he use his cards?

“How could this happen? Yilin, tell us—what exactly did you do to lose the partnership?”

Tang Dajiang berated Tang Yilin.

Tang Yilin lowered her head, biting her lip.

“It’s all Tang Shihan’s doing.”

At that moment, Lin Lei spoke up. “Originally, Yilin was appointed as the person in charge, but in the dead of night, suddenly Tang Shihan was put in charge. Can you guess why?”

Everyone exchanged glances, and their faces lit up with sudden understanding.

Lin Lei sneered, mocking, “Tang Shihan, that wretched woman, acts so innocent on the surface, but in reality she’s nothing but a tramp. To get the contract, she’d stoop to anything!”

Wretched woman. I’ve asked you out so many times and you always refused, pretending to be pure. Now you’d sell your body just for a contract!

Jin Xuemei said through gritted teeth, “I knew Tang Shihan was no good. She’s nothing but a tramp!”

Just then, the old matriarch regained consciousness.

“Mother.”

Everyone crowded around.

The old matriarch looked weakly at Tang Yilin, her trembling hand reaching out. “Yilin, tell Grandma—what did you do that made the partners cancel the deal and kicked you out?”

Tang Yilin quickly replied, “Grandma, it’s not my fault—someone was working against me!”

“Who?” The old matriarch asked urgently.

Tang Yilin didn’t say directly who had sabotaged her, but instead explained, “Longhai Group just called, saying the person in charge is now Tang Shihan.”

Lin Lei added from the side, “Changing the person in charge in the middle of the night—that’s not normal, Grandma.”

Tang Yilin said angrily, “And they kicked me out entirely. I can’t even be an assistant. Whoever did this must truly hate me!”

The old matriarch caught the implication in their words, her brows furrowed as she threw off the covers.

“Take me to Tang Shihan’s house. I want to ask her myself!”
