Chapter 135
Chapter 135
Seeing this, Ye Fengyun's suspicion grew in his heart.
Butler Lin was the steward of the Lin family. His last visit to the Xu household was supposedly for a social gathering between the two families. So why was he still here now?
"Mr. Ye, Miss Tang, the master asked me to wait here," Butler Lin said with a faint smile.
Ye Fengyun replied, "Butler Lin, if I remember correctly, you are the steward of the Lin family, right? Why do you keep coming to the Xu residence so often? Has the Lin family no longer needed you?"
With a smile, Butler Lin responded, "For the sake of the two families’ friendship, we exchanged stewards."
That explanation was rather absurd.
Could stewards really be exchanged so casually?
Yet Ye Fengyun did not press further. First, he was here to accompany Tang Shihan to the art exhibition, and second, he did not want to alert anyone prematurely.
There was undoubtedly some unspeakable secret between the Lin and Xu families, but if Ye Fengyun probed now, it would only stir up trouble.
So he refrained from asking.
The two followed the butler to another villa on the Xu estate.
This villa was the private collection gallery of the old master Xu, housing various works of art.
The villa was extravagantly built; for an ordinary person, even several lifetimes of effort might only afford the purchase of a restroom, yet Old Master Xu used it merely as a display for his collections.
By the time they entered, quite a few people were already inside.
“Mr. Ye has arrived. Please, come in,” Old Master Xu greeted them energetically with a smile.
Tang Shihan politely exchanged greetings with Old Master Xu, while Ye Fengyun casually waved his hand.
Ye Fengyun introduced, “This is my wife. You should know her.”
“Of course, Miss Tang Shihan, a very diligent young lady,” Old Master Xu said with a warm nod.
Tang Shihan smiled faintly. “You flatter me, sir.”
Old Master Xu chuckled, “I heard from Mr. Ye that Miss Tang is also quite fond of Master Yunfeng, isn’t that so?”
Tang Shihan glanced at Ye Fengyun before nodding to Old Master Xu, “Yes, I greatly admire Master Yunfeng’s style and his way of conducting himself.”
“Indeed, a figure like Master Yunfeng, detached from worldly affairs, is truly the ideal we all dream of reaching,” Old Master Xu said as he led them toward the exhibition hall.
The villa was vast, its decor solemn and majestic, rivaling a museum in scale.
Soon, the three arrived at the main hall.
No sooner had they stepped inside than a middle-aged man cast a hostile glare at Ye Fengyun.
“Who’s this ugly bastard?” the man sneered with disdain. “How did such a grotesque creature sneak into such an elegant place? Filthy eyes!”
His words dripped with ridicule, and his expression was laced with sarcasm.
A few sneers echoed from nearby.
Ye Fengyun tilted his head and retorted sharply, “And who the hell are you?”
“How dare you! This is Mr. Wen Zhengtian, a renowned cultural program planner, angel investor, once responsible for famous cultural shows and investor in many large publicly listed groups!” another man nearby took the opportunity to flatter.
Upon hearing the surname Wen, Ye Fengyun quickly understood. This old fellow was likely a relative of Wen Zong. Since Wen Zong had attempted something unspeakable toward Tang Shihan and was taken down by Ye Fengyun, this old man was probably here to cause trouble deliberately.
