Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Lin Lei smiled and said, “Shihan, listen to yourself—you make it sound like we aren’t family.”
“No conditions?”
He coughed, correcting himself, “Well, not really a condition. As long as you have dinner with me, that’s all, haha.”
Just dinner? Tang Shihan wasn’t naive; she knew exactly what was going on in his mind. Things wouldn’t be so simple.
“Brother-in-law, you’d be better off helping Tang Yilin,” she said icily. “I have a meeting to attend. Please see yourself out.”
Without another word, she left the office.
Lin Lei watched her cold departure, seething with resentment.
Pretending to be so innocent? Acting aloof on the surface but secretly wild inside. You’d rather sleep with that ugly freak than me? Damn you!
Tang Shihan, just you wait.
And that ugly freak too, I’ll make you kneel before me, I’ll ruin you!
In the corridor, Tang Shihan glanced at her phone and silently dialed Ye Fengyun.
At that moment, Ye Fengyun had just descended Cuiyun Mountain. To his surprise, his wife was calling, and he answered with delight.
“My dear wife, what can I do for you?”
Tang Shihan, on the other end, shivered in disgust.
“I’m not your wife. Watch your mouth or I’ll rip your tongue out!”
“Oh~”
She pressed her fingers to her temples, then instructed, “Anqi had some trouble at school. Go check on her. I have a meeting at noon and can’t get away. Once you find her, bring her to the company.”
“Understood! Your words are law, and your humble servant will see it done!”
Tang Shihan was speechless and hung up without another word.
Ye Fengyun changed direction and headed to Tang Anqi’s school.
Meanwhile, in a corner of the school’s sports field, Tang Anqi’s face was twisted with anger, her eyes blazing.
One of the gang of delinquent students—a girl in gaudy makeup—stepped forward, taunting her with a sneer.
“What are you glaring at? Tang Anqi, you’d better stop hanging around him, or I’ll ruin you!”
“Exactly! She’s just a wild kid with no mother, trying to seduce someone’s boyfriend?”
At the mention of her mother, Tang Anqi snapped, grabbing the gaudy girl’s hair and yanking with a fury that drew blood.
But she was outnumbered, and soon the group had her pinned to the ground—some yanking her hair, others tugging at her pants and camisole.
Yet Tang Anqi clenched her teeth, refusing to cry out. She spat at them instead, “So many of you bullying one person—is that all you’re good for? Let me go if you have the guts! Let’s fight one-on-one!”
At that moment, several of the troublemakers suddenly felt a tight grip on the back of their collars and were tossed aside like ragdolls.
The shadows looming over Tang Anqi vanished. She looked up and found herself staring at a grotesquely ugly face.
“What are you doing here?!” Tang Anqi was annoyed to see Ye Fengyun, but at the same time relieved to have help.
Ye Fengyun grinned. “I came to help you.”
“?”
He reached out, helped her to her feet, and straightened her clothes.
“Don’t touch me!” she snapped, swinging a slap at him.
Ye Fengyun casually deflected her slap, and in the same motion, pressed a point on her body, immobilizing her.
Tang Anqi froze in place, unable to move.
“My dear sister-in-law, look at you—all covered in mud. Not pretty at all.”
“I’ll kill you!” she glared daggers at him.
He finished tidying her up. “Just wait. Your brother-in-law will get justice for you.”
He stood up, his expression turning sinister as he faced the group.
“So it was you insulting my sister-in-law?”
“We were just telling the truth!”
“Yeah! She has no parents and still tries to seduce someone’s boyfriend!”
“It’s not my fault you can’t keep your man!” Tang Anqi shouted, but she couldn’t move.
Ye Fengyun smiled. In a flash, he appeared before them, delivering a slap.
“That’s for your filthy mouths.”
Another slap followed. “This one, on behalf of your parents.”
Before they could react, a third slap landed. “And this one—remember, the Tang family is under my protection. Got it?”
They were stunned, clutching their faces and staring at him in terror.
“He’s crazy!”
“You’re insane!”
Though the gaudy girl burned with anger, they knew they were no match for him and fled.
Tang Anqi, who had seen everything, was dumbfounded.
This ugly freak is actually strong?
She felt she’d have to reconsider him entirely.
Ye Fengyun returned to her side, adjusted her clothes again, and subtly released her from the immobilizing point.
Tang Anqi was surprised, not understanding what had just happened to her.
“Are you alright, little sister-in-law?” Ye Fengyun asked with a grin.
She snorted, shoving his hand away. “I could have handled it myself, even if you hadn’t come. Don’t think helping me means I’ll accept you—I’ll still find a way to drive you out of the Tang family!” she snapped.
Ye Fengyun only smiled.
He remembered being a child, bullied and called a bastard, a wild child. He understood exactly how Tang Anqi felt.
“Such a thankless sister-in-law. But I’m just following my wife’s orders. If you don’t appreciate it, so be it. By the way, your sister asked me to bring you to the company.”
Tang Anqi ignored him, leaving the school. At the empty gate, she turned back, frowning. “How did you get here?”
“I ran.”
She snorted, unimpressed. “A grown man without even a car.”
“I’m faster than any car.”
“If you didn’t brag, you’d die!”
Tang Anqi couldn’t be bothered to argue with him anymore. She hailed a taxi without another glance at Ye Fengyun and left.
Soon, Tang Anqi arrived at the Tang Group building, only to be surprised to find Ye Fengyun already waiting at the entrance.
“You’re just getting here?” he yawned. “I was almost asleep.”
She stared at him, astonished. “How did you get here?”
“I ran.”
“Liar! My driver must have taken the long way on purpose!” She refused to believe a word he said.
Ye Fengyun stood, stretching. “Don’t stand outside, little sister-in-law. I’ll take you to my wife.”
“Don’t call me that! And Shihan is not your wife!”
Tang Anqi huffed and marched inside.
When Tang Shihan heard they’d arrived, she personally came down to meet them.
Ye Fengyun, shameless as ever, kept calling her “wife,” drawing whispers from onlookers.
“Who is that? He’s so ugly.”
“I think he’s Ms. Han’s fiancé.”
“He’s just a live-in son-in-law. No real job, mooching off her all day.”
The gossip made Tang Shihan feel helpless.
Ye Fengyun, on the other hand, was utterly unfazed, acting as if nothing was wrong.
Tang Shihan, a little exasperated, asked, “Don’t you feel any shame?”
“Shame? Why, when they’re right?”
“You—”
She pressed her temple, sighing deeply.
“I should find you a job. What do you want to do?”
“I want to be your husband,” Ye Fengyun declared righteously.
“Be serious!” she snapped, her face cold.
He chuckled, folding his arms behind his head. “I’m used to a life of freedom, drifting like clouds and cranes. I don’t want to be caged. Besides—”
“Besides what?” she asked, puzzled.
“I have my own plans. Don’t worry about me.”
She realized there was no point in arguing further.
Ye Fengyun looked at her with a smile, then suddenly grew serious. “But don’t worry, my dear wife, I’ll solve your crisis. In three days, I’ll get you five million in funding, at least.”
Tang Shihan’s face darkened. Could this man be any less reliable?
Tang Anqi sneered. “You? Five million? All you do is brag. What else are you good for?”
“I’m good for a lot more than you think. Just ask your sister.”
“You—”
Tang Shihan quickly cut in, “Ye Fengyun, I hope you’ll stop making outrageous claims. After all, your reputation is tied to mine.”
“Exactly! Stop bragging so much in the future!”
Ye Fengyun grinned cheekily. “Three days from now, you’ll see whether I’m bragging or not.”
