Chapter 108
Chapter 108
Ye Fengyun said, “This is my matter.”
Lin Qinghuan pouted, snorted, and gave him a light slap in annoyance.
“What are you doing?” Ye Fengyun looked at her.
“You’re such an idiot!”
Lin Qinghuan stood up indignantly, clutching the contract as she strode toward Tang Shihan.
“This is ridiculous,” Ye Fengyun rolled his eyes.
As Lin Qinghuan approached Tang Shihan, her gaze suddenly landed on the “Sea and Sky Romance” necklace adorning Tang Shihan’s neck.
Lin Qinghuan froze on the spot, as if struck by a thunderbolt on a clear day. Her mind went blank.
Why was the “Sea and Sky Romance” on her neck? Could it be that Ye Fengyun had intended to buy it for her from the start? Had he never even considered me?
Lin Qinghuan staggered back numbly and collapsed into a chair, as if paralyzed.
Indeed, he never said the “Sea and Sky Romance” was for me—it was all one-sided.
Lin Qinghuan laughed, tears mingling with the smile. Only now did she realize how foolish she had been.
“Miss, why aren’t you going? Have you forgotten madam’s instructions?” the attendant urged.
But Lin Qinghuan seemed not to hear, her heart heavy as she walked toward Ye Fengyun.
“Miss, where are you going?” the attendant hurried after her.
At that moment, Ye Fengyun was savoring the delicacies on the dining table, paying no attention to those trying to cozy up to him.
Suddenly, a hand grasped Ye Fengyun’s shoulder, pulling him around.
“What’s wrong?” Ye Fengyun looked at Lin Qinghuan in confusion.
Lin Qinghuan’s eyes were red-rimmed as she questioned him, “Why is the ‘Sea and Sky Romance’ on Tang Shihan?”
Ye Fengyun’s expression was puzzled. “She’s my wife. Why shouldn’t it be on her?”
“So you planned to give it to her from the start?”
“What else?”
Lin Qinghuan could barely hold back her tears now, her voice trembling.
Love is most fragile when one deceives oneself.
“That was my money!!”
“I’ll pay you back after the wedding. Didn’t you see how many orders they gave? I’ll pay you double,” Ye Fengyun said with a smile.
Lin Qinghuan shouted through her tears, “Is it about money?”
Ye Fengyun grew even more confused. “Then what is it about?”
“It’s me—”
Lin Qinghuan hesitated, words stuck in her throat.
She didn’t know how to express it.
She thought her hints had been obvious enough!
“Miss, the contract—”
“I know, shut your filthy mouth, or I’ll tear it up!” Lin Qinghuan snapped at the attendant.
The attendant was too frightened to say another word.
Lin Qinghuan pulled out her phone, found Ye Fengyun’s WeChat, and showed it to him.
“This is your WeChat.”
Then, she clicked delete. “From now on, we’re even.”
She threw the contract at the attendant and turned to flee the wedding venue.
Although she deleted all of Ye Fengyun’s contact information, she deliberately did not block his phone number.
Because deep down, she still harbored a faint hope that Ye Fengyun would take the initiative to find her.
The attendant looked troubled but handed the contract to Ye Fengyun.
Ye Fengyun caught the contract with a chicken drumstick in his mouth and said, “Got it. You go ahead; I’ll give the contract to her later.”
“Thank you, Mr. Ye. Sorry for the trouble today,” the attendant bowed.
Ye Fengyun waved his hand. “It’s nothing. Go ahead. Don’t worry too much about formalities. But if anything happens to your family’s matriarch, contact me. She hasn’t been well lately.”
As he spoke, Ye Fengyun was quietly calculating something with his fingers.
“Yes, I will pass on the message.”
