Chapter Six: Want to Die? It’s Far Too Soon
"It's your turn now."
After dealing with those henchmen, Su Yifan cast a cold glance at Long Batian, his voice indifferent.
Feeling the murderous intent in Su Yifan’s eyes, Long Batian swallowed hard.
The next moment—
With a thud, Long Batian dropped to his knees, disregarding his own status as the leader of the Azure Gang.
His face was full of pleading. "Please, don’t kill me. I’ll give you as much money as you want, all of it, everything..."
Between wealth and his own life, he chose the latter without hesitation.
What use is money without life?
Su Yifan seemed not to hear his words and slowly walked toward him, stopping when only three meters remained.
Long Batian kept his head lowered, paralyzed by fear, utterly devoid of resistance.
"Do you know what Su Huaimin is to me?" Su Yifan’s voice was icy.
"I... I don’t know..." Long Batian stammered, trembling all over.
Isn’t he just a martial artist the Su family hired at a high price? What else could their connection be?
Just as he thought things might be that simple, Su Yifan spoke again. "Su Huaimin is my grandfather."
Grandfather?
Hearing those words, Long Batian’s pupils dilated instantly. He jerked his head up to stare at Su Yifan.
"You... Are you the young master of the Su family who disappeared five years ago?"
"That’s right."
"No, no, it’s impossible!" Long Batian was so terrified that he fell onto his rear.
He stared hard at Su Yifan, seeing a faint resemblance to the Su family patriarch, Su Zhenguo.
But how could this be? Hadn’t the Wang family said they killed him five years ago?
Why would he suddenly appear now—stronger than ever?
"It’s pointless to waste more words with someone like you. You may die now."
As soon as he finished speaking, Su Yifan prepared to strike.
"Wait! Don’t kill me!"
Long Batian hurriedly shouted, "Young Master Su, please don’t kill me! I was just following someone else’s orders. None of this was my idea!"
As he finished speaking—
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three desperate kowtows resounded.
"Following orders?"
Su Yifan paused, hand poised to kill. "Your Azure Gang is one of the top underground organizations in Cloud City. Who could order you around?"
Seeing him hesitate, Long Batian quickly explained, "Young Master Su, you don’t know—the Wang family put me up to this!"
"The Wang family?"
"Yes, the Wang family." Long Batian continued, "They’re one of Cloud City’s top families, and they have powerful backers. No matter how strong the Azure Gang is, we can’t compete with them!"
Now, regret flooded him. If he had known things would end up like this, he wouldn’t have dared attack the Su family in a hundred lifetimes!
Su Yifan, sensing the truth in his tone, asked, "You say the Wang family ordered you, but why? My family has never offended them."
He knew a bit about the Wang family—a top-tier clan in Cloud City. But the Su family had always kept a low profile, never even clashing with the Wangs in business. Why target the Su family?
"I heard it’s for an item. I don’t know exactly what—it wasn’t specified. The Wang family just said if I got it for them, they’d pay me ten billion."
He’d thought he’d get that item tonight, then collect his ten billion from the Wang family.
But he never expected a demon would appear out of nowhere. The most terrifying part was, this demon was the Su family’s young master.
An item?
What could it be?
Su Yifan tried to recall memories from five years ago but couldn’t remember anything about such an item.
Perhaps only his grandfather knew.
He decided to ask his parents when he returned.
As Su Yifan pondered, Long Batian quietly tried to stand and flee.
"Did I say you could leave?"
A voice as cold as ice pierced the air.
With another thud, Long Batian fell to his knees again. "Young Master Su, I’ve told you everything I know! Didn’t you say you’d let me go?"
"Let you go? Which ear of yours heard me say that?"
Su Yifan raised his hand.
The next instant!
Long Batian was lifted into the air by an invisible force.
"You... You can’t kill me! Otherwise, the Wang family will never let you go!" Long Batian desperately tried to channel his inner strength, but as a peak Dark Force martial artist, he found himself utterly helpless against this restraint.
With nothing left, he could only try to use the Wang family as a threat, hoping Su Yifan would hesitate.
But in the next second—
Crack! Crack!
Two crisp bone fractures resounded.
"Ah!!! You crippled my arms!"
Both of Long Batian’s arms were broken, the sudden agony forcing a scream from his throat.
Su Yifan looked down at him, his voice low and grim. "You killed my most beloved grandfather. I want you to die in agony!"
As soon as he finished—
Crack! Crack!
"Ah! No—"
Another wretched scream burst out.
Both of Long Batian’s legs snapped in a grotesque manner, bending backward until they hung over his shoulders, forming an unnatural shape.
His screams lasted for more than half a minute.
Catching his breath in hoarse, ragged gasps, Long Batian began to sob weakly, "Please... just kill me... end it now..."
"You want to die? Not so soon!"
With a flick of his hand, Su Yifan sent over a dozen bursts of energy, each one slicing precisely into Long Batian’s ribs.
One after another, the sound of splintering bones echoed. The pain drove Long Batian into unconsciousness.
But soon, the shattered ribs pierced his vital organs, and the pain dragged him back to excruciating awareness.
"Please... please... kill me... just kill me..."
Long Batian’s body convulsed, blood spilling from his mouth, his voice barely audible.
Su Yifan heard him, of course—but what did it matter to him?
The man had killed his grandfather; this was nothing but vengeance.
Yet even so, it felt wholly inadequate. Compared to the loss of his grandfather, not even ten thousand deaths could repay this debt.
Seeing that Long Batian was already suffering a fate worse than death, Su Yifan sent out one last burst of energy.
Whoosh!
The force shot like a bullet, piercing straight through Long Batian’s skull.
A moment later—
Bang!
With a final thud, Long Batian’s body crashed to the floor, his death gruesome beyond description.
Su Yifan drew in a deep breath, then closed his eyes and raised his head to the heavens. "Grandfather, your grandson has avenged you..."
...
A few minutes later, Su Yifan returned to the Su residence.
He did not hurry to see his sister but went straight to the mourning hall where his grandfather’s body lay.
Staring at the cold, silent coffin before him, he fell to his knees with a thud.
It is said that men do not easily shed tears, yet his eyes were red, and tears streamed down his face before he realized it.
"Grandfather, your unfilial grandson has come home."
As he spoke, his head sank lower and lower, unwilling to rise again.
