Chapter 134: It’s fine, I’m heading home alone too.
"Brother Fan, what was that?" Lin Ming asked, unable to contain his curiosity after witnessing his good friend's miraculous display.
"It's nothing. I just erased some of their memories." Su Yifan hadn't wanted to resort to this, as the technique could damage the spirits of those affected. However, there was no other choice; if those bloody memories weren't wiped away, the trauma would only have a greater impact on them.
...
A few minutes later, the group began to stir. As they realized they were sprawled on the ground, they looked at one another in utter confusion.
"What happened? Why did I pass out?"
"I'm not sure, either."
Listening to their confusion, Lin Ming was stunned. It actually worked. He had been skeptical moments ago, but seeing it with his own eyes left him speechless. Just how many more tricks did Brother Fan have up his sleeve that he didn't know about?
Just then, "Yi... Yifan..."
Xu Shuyan woke up suddenly. When she realized she was being cradled in Su Yifan’s arms, her face flushed a deep crimson. What was going on? What had happened just now? Why had she fainted, and why was she in his arms?
"You're awake." Seeing her stir, Su Yifan immediately let go.
Xu Shuyan was still feeling dizzy, and when he suddenly released her, she stumbled and almost fell. Seeing this, Su Yifan reached out to steady her.
"Are you alright?"
"I... I'm fine." She shook her head.
Nearby, Lin Ming stood by with a knowing, mischievous grin. The other classmates gathered around as well.
"Shuyan, you two..."
Facing the gazes of so many people, Xu Shuyan felt her face burning and hurriedly stepped away from Su Yifan.
"Yifan, what happened just now? Why did we all pass out?" someone asked.
"You all drank too much and suddenly fainted," Su Yifan replied.
"Drank too much?"
Hearing this, the classmates struggled to recall what had happened before they lost consciousness, but after a long moment of thought, they came up with nothing.
Lin Ming quickly intervened, "Well, it's getting late. Let's call it a night and get together another time."
The others nodded. They had originally planned to go to karaoke, but feeling heavy-headed, they no longer had the energy for it. Soon, they reached the outside of the hotel and went their separate ways. To create an opportunity for his friend to be alone with Xu Shuyan, Lin Ming made a quick excuse and left.
Now, only Su Yifan and Xu Shuyan remained outside the hotel. They stood in silence for half a minute.
***
Su Yifan broke the silence first. "It’s late. You should head home; I’m leaving." With that, he turned to walk away.
"Yifan..." Seeing him leave, Xu Shuyan hurriedly called out to him.
"Is there something else?"
"Um... could you take me home?" Xu Shuyan said softly. She didn't even have the courage to look at his back while asking.
Five years. This was the man she had loved for so many years, and now that they had met again, she wanted to seize the chance.
However, the next second, Su Yifan’s indifferent voice replied, "How about I call a ride for you?"
At these words, Xu Shuyan froze in place. She had been so obvious—could he really not tell? She hesitated, then said, "It's so late. Are you really comfortable with me going home alone?"
"It's fine. I'm going home alone too." Su Yifan walked away without looking back.
He wasn't a fool; he understood her intentions perfectly. But they were destined to be from different worlds, and he didn't want to leave anything behind that might lead to unnecessary misunderstandings later.
Watching his retreating figure, Xu Shuyan felt dazed. He... he really left? No, he was rejecting her. Could it be that he already had someone...? At this thought, she bit her lip, lowering her eyes to hide the disappointment welling within.
Su Yifan reached his car and was about to open the door when he suddenly sensed a wave of danger rushing toward him.
The next second, he saw a bullet flying rapidly toward Xu Shuyan, who was standing not far away. Su Yifan instantly teleported in front of her and caught the bullet with his hand.
"Yifan, you..."
"Don't speak. Keep this with you and go home immediately." Without waiting for her to finish, he pressed a protective jade pendant into her hand.
Following that, he sped off in the direction the shot had come from. Still confused by what had transpired, Xu Shuyan looked at his departing back, then at the pendant in her hand. Sensing the urgency in his tone, she realized the area was no longer safe and quickly fled.
...
On the other side, a dark figure darted through the night. After running for over a kilometer, the figure stopped in a dim alleyway.
"Hoo..." The figure had barely caught her breath when a cold voice came from behind her.
"Why stop running?"
Su Yifan appeared behind her.
"You... how did you catch up?!" the figure exclaimed, shocked. She had fired the shot from nearly two kilometers away and then ran another kilometer; how could he have caught up so quickly? Was this man's strength truly that terrifying?
Su Yifan looked at the figure before him: she was dressed in a tight black bodysuit that accentuated her curves. Based on her voice, he recognized her origin. "A Japanese national. Who sent you?"
"You want to know? See if you have the ability to find out."
The moment she finished speaking, the woman in black leaped into the air, pulled a sniper rifle from her back, and fired.
"Bang!"
The bullet whistled through the air, but Su Yifan simply shook his head and caught it with his hand.
"Nani!"
Seeing that the sniper rifle was useless, the woman threw a dozen throwing stars in a frantic flurry. The result was the same; Su Yifan caught them all with just one hand.
"Damn it!"
Realizing she was no match for him, the woman lunged toward a wall. "Escape!" she whispered, vanishing right before his eyes.
"Trying to pull those tricks in front of me? You're still too green." Su Yifan sneered. He reached out and grabbed at empty air in a specific direction.
The next second, the woman in black was lifted into the air, held firmly by her throat.
"How is this possible? How did you detect my escape route?" she struggled frantically, but it was futile.
"Your little Japanese tricks might work on others, but not me. Tell me, who sent you?" Su Yifan asked coldly.
"Let me go first," the woman said, coughing.
Su Yifan, unafraid of her tricks, dropped her to the ground. However, the next second, an enchanting, faint fragrance wafted toward him.
"Hmm?" Smelling the scent, Su Yifan immediately sensed something was wrong. *Very well. If you want to play, I’ll play along.*
Seeing the dazed look in Su Yifan’s eyes, the woman assumed he had fallen for her seduction technique. She smiled triumphantly, resting her hands on his shoulders and leaning in close. "I knew it. All men are the same."
She began to trace her hands down to his chest. "Look at this chest, so firm. I wonder how you are in that other department? I’ve never tried a man from the Xia Kingdom before..."
