Ning Shuyi took it and quickly skimmed through it.

What Huo Yan had printed was a forum post, published anonymously on a website about a year ago. The content was essentially that the poster claimed that the minor internet celebrity "Little Lamb" was actually named Yang Huishu. Despite her ethereal persona online, seemingly untouched by the mundane world, she had a notorious reputation in school, often showing malicious behavior toward her peers.

The poster identified themselves as a former classmate who had been ostracized and mocked by Little Lamb, even isolated, and provided several examples of how Yang Huishu targeted others out of jealousy. The details were so specific that it was clear the Yang Huishu depicted by the poster was worlds apart from the "Little Lamb" seen online.

The more innocent and beautiful Little Lamb appeared, the more sharp-tongued and mean Yang Huishu seemed in the post. The more Little Lamb appeared indifferent to fame and fortune, the more calculating Yang Huishu appeared. The poster gave over a dozen examples with detailed content, including many small incidents from school days. Even though the names of students targeted by Yang Huishu were hidden, certain characteristics were mentioned to prove authenticity.

The entire post was lengthy and covered Yang Huishu’s entire school life. After reading it, one might think that if the poster wasn’t recounting their own experience, they must be a novelist.

Despite its heartfelt tone, the post was not very popular. Most replies were from people who neither knew Little Lamb nor Yang Huishu, but simply responded to the school stories shared by the poster.

Had Ning Shuyi not browsed those videos posted by Little Lamb, or Yang Huishu herself, had she not witnessed firsthand how she subtly targeted "pay-to-win players" and quarreled with dissenting netizens, she might have doubted the content of this anonymous post.

But now, although she couldn't be certain the poster was telling the truth, the Yang Huishu described in the post had many similarities in behavior to the snide, provocative Little Lamb in her videos.

At that moment, the office door swung open and Luo Wei rushed in energetically. Spotting Ning Shuyi and Huo Yan, he waved excitedly, "You’re both here, perfect! Good news, big breakthrough! I brought Zhang Jiawen back!"

"Zhang Jiawen?" Ning Shuyi was surprised, rising from her chair. "Wasn’t it said we shouldn’t disturb that lead, for fear of jeopardizing the whole case? You didn’t act impulsively, did you?"

"No, don’t worry!" Luo Wei patted his chest. "Do you think your brother Luo is that kind of person? This was all officially approved!

This Zhang Jiawen isn’t any big fish, not even a small fry—more like an insignificant shrimp, a middleman! As long as we don’t make a scene, bringing her in won't even be noticed."

"That’s excellent! If we get her in, we might uncover some secrets about Wang Yuluo that nobody else knows!" Ning Shuyi was energized and called to Huo Yan, "Come on, let’s go take Zhang Jiawen’s statement!"

She turned, only to find Huo Yan no longer by her desk, but standing by the window.

Hearing his name, Huo Yan turned around, stayed put, and beckoned Ning Shuyi over. "Look outside—see who’s there."

Ning Shuyi went over and glanced out the window. The courtyard below bustled with people and vehicles; at first, she didn’t spot anything notable.

Seeing she hadn’t found the target, Huo Yan prompted, "Outside the main gate: gray coat, dark brown trousers, black leather shoes."

With these clues, Ning Shuyi quickly locked onto the figure. The distance was too great to see clearly, so she used her phone’s camera, zoomed in, and finally saw, through the screen, who was standing outside the gate.

Wang Yuluo’s aunt wore a gray coat and dark brown trousers, carrying a bag. She paced back and forth at the entrance, appearing conflicted, as if wanting to come in but hesitant.

"She’s definitely here to find us, right?" Ning Shuyi frowned and turned to Luo Wei. "Let’s go see what Wang Yuluo’s aunt wants, then we’ll meet Zhang Jiawen!"

"Go ahead! Zhang Jiawen won’t be escaping now!" Luo Wei waved them off.

The two hurried out of the office and downstairs.

"Are your eyes almost too sharp?" Ning Shuyi asked Huo Yan as they descended. "At that distance, I couldn’t even make out Wang Yuluo’s aunt’s face without my phone. How did you recognize her?"

"Her posture," Huo Yan replied tersely. "A person’s manner of movement is hard to change—easy to recognize."

Ning Shuyi was struck by this insight. It was indeed a clever method; though it didn’t demand extraordinary eyesight, it required exceptional observational skill—a talent not easily mastered.

When they reached the ground floor, Wang Yuluo’s aunt was still pacing outside, visibly agitated. As Ning Shuyi and Huo Yan approached, only a few meters away, she hadn’t noticed them yet.

It wasn’t until Ning Shuyi stood right in front of her that Wang Yuluo’s aunt snapped out of her thoughts, looked up, and saw Ning Shuyi and then Huo Yan. She seemed startled, then, regaining composure, offered a sheepish smile. "Officer Ning, Officer Huo, what a coincidence—meeting you here!"

Ning Shuyi smiled back. "This is our workplace, so it’s not exactly a coincidence, is it? Is there something you need at the police station? Would you like to come inside?"

"No, no! I won’t go in, you’re all so busy—I’d only be a bother, wasting your time!" Wang Yuluo’s aunt quickly shook her head. "Actually... I just wanted to ask about my niece’s case—how’s the investigation going, any progress?

But I was afraid that coming here unannounced might disrupt your work.

I brought some fruit, thinking you must be working hard these days for Yuluo. Please, take it to soothe your throats!"
