Chapter 96: Revenge on My Wife – Part One
All morning, under the strict watch of Miss Nine, Little Yun had no choice but to repeatedly and arduously practice the monotonous basic techniques. By the afternoon, his waist ached and his back was sore. He longed to lie down and rest, but Miss Nine gripped her long whip, watching him closely. The moment he slackened, the whip seemed to come alive, relentlessly striking his sore spots. He hated it so fiercely that he wished the damned whip would burn him to ashes.
Driven by Miss Nine’s insistence, he had to persist in practicing the fundamental combat moves—each step as tedious and dull as the last, yet exhausting to the extreme. Little Yun couldn’t help but groan loudly in frustration. At last, evening came. After a bath, he yearned to sleep peacefully.
But Miss Nine entered, clutching a thick stack of ancient books, intent on teaching him literature. Little Yun was utterly drained, and as soon as he began to doze off, she pricked him with a needle, claiming it was a secret method used by scholars in old times to stay focused.
Enraged, Little Yun shouted, “Are you teaching me or torturing me? I have no desire to become a scholar or chase fame and fortune!”
Miss Nine smiled and said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m not asking you to become the top scholar, but reading more is always beneficial.”
With no hope of protest, Little Yun could only plead, “Good sister, good wife, dear auntie, please have mercy! Let me sleep!”
His desperate plea finally bore a little fruit—in his mind, the wretched woman had a rare moment of conscience and allowed him to rest.
Once in bed, Little Yun thought of nothing else, not even bothering to undress, and fell asleep immediately.
How long he slept, he didn’t know, but he was abruptly awakened again. Rubbing his eyes, he saw Miss Nine standing at the bedside, urging him to rise and practice martial arts.
Startled, Little Yun abandoned all pride and begged, “Good sister, please spare me! I truly cannot endure this kind of teaching. I dare not be your husband—being your husband is too exhausting. How about I be your son instead? Then you can let me go.”
“What?” Miss Nine was both angry and embarrassed. She wanted to scold him, but then softened and coaxed, “Be good, Little Yun, don’t throw a childish tantrum. Yes, yesterday’s training was tough, but the beginning is always the hardest. Whether training in martial arts or literature, once you get past the first few days, it won’t feel so tiring. Now listen to me and get up! If you train well today, I’ll be your best sister—kiss me once, and I’ll have the strength to get up.”
Sighing, she added, “Oh, silly Yun, once you master your skills, there will be plenty of chances for you to tease your sister. Come on, lean over and let me kiss you.”
That kiss instantly revived Little Yun. He leaned forward, but suddenly Miss Nine grabbed his ear sharply and scolded, “You little rascal—no spirit when practicing martial arts, but you get all fired up when it comes to that!”
“Ouch!” Little Yun howledI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
