111 Teasing the Young Master
Little Yun slipped out of the tavern, afraid that Miss Nine’s men on the street would recognize him. To avoid being identified, he smeared ash over his face, thinking, “Now no one will recognize me.”
First, Little Yun sought out the Lucky Charm Gambling Den. Upon entering, he found the place bustling with activity. He recalled that Miss Nine had once mentioned the main person in charge there was Xiao Cui.
Looking around inside, Little Yun couldn’t find Xiao Cui but caught the attention of the gambling den’s henchmen. Seeing he wasn’t there to gamble, they promptly ushered him out. Furious, Little Yun cursed, “You underestimate me too much! If you provoke me, I’ll beat you all until your backsides are sore!”
The henchmen laughed heartily, thinking Little Yun just a poor nobody joking around. They seized him like eagles snatching chicks and tossed him out the door. Little Yun rolled down the steps like a snowball, both angry and hurting.
As he lay on the ground cursing wildly, trying to get up, his hands grasped something unexpectedly. Upon closer look, he realized he had grabbed a woman’s tiny foot. The woman was staring at him with wide, round eyes.
It was none other than Xiao Cui. Embarrassed, Little Yun quickly lowered his head.
Xiao Cui was momentarily stunned upon seeing him, then burst into a soft giggle. Leaning close to his ear, she whispered, “Tough guy, what’s got you looking so dusty and disheveled today?”
Little Yun, annoyed she recognized him, snapped, “How dare you laugh at me? It’s your men who caused all this trouble.”
Xiao Cui chuckled, “Young master, don’t be angry. Didn’t you learn a few moves from Miss Nine? Why not show them your real skills?”
“That’s right, weren’t you looking for someone to spar with?” Little Yun thought to himself. Just then, he eyed the two burly henchmen nearby, ready to challenge them.
But seeing their strong, robust physiques, he felt intimidated and preferred to pick smaller opponents. Standing up, he dusted himself off with flair and said, “A gentleman uses words, not fists. I won’t fight big guys.”
As he turned to leave, Xiao Cui called out, “Wait, don’t go!” stretching out her hand to pull him back.
Little Yun grinned, “Sister Cui, are you going to ask me to hug you like last time? Haha, I’d be happy to, but I’m afraid my wife wouldn’t be pleased.”
“You!” Xiao Cui blushed, remembering how last time, when she grabbed him, he had held her tightly, leaving her feeling flustered. So, as Little Yun walked ahead, she followed closely behind, inseparable.
Wandering east and west along the street, Little Yun suddenly spotted a crowd gathered ahead. Curious, he approached and saw two street performers showcasing their talents. On closer inspection, he couldn’t help but laugh quietly—it was none other than Qu Buping and Chu Xiaoyu.
Little Yun mused that these street acts must be Qu Buping’s idea. The man was so shameless he’d even gone as far as playing the role of the God of Wealth; what did he care about performing martial arts on the street?
Feeling mischievous, Little Yun thought these two were only slightly taller than himself and perfect sparring partners.
Pushing through the crowd, he stepped into the circle and said, “Where did this wild kid come from? Showing off martial arts here is like a novice showing off before an expert. I’ll teach you a lesson.”
Qu Buping and Chu Xiaoyu were initially stunned, then recognized Little Yun. Just as Chu Xiaoyu was about to greet him, Qu Buping said, “Who is this wild kid causing trouble here? Let’s see your fists!” and threw a punch at Little Yun.
Little Yun thought, “This Qu fellow is a worthy opponent,” and shouted, “Bring it on!” The two immediately exchanged punches and kicks.
Xiao Cui had originally feared Little Yun would get into trouble and tried to stop him, but seeing it wasn’t a real fight, she quietly observed from the sidelines.
To defeat Qu Buping, Little Yun employed every move Miss Nine had taught him over the past two weeks, yet he still couldn’t bring Qu down. Instead, Qu pushed him back relentlessly.
If not for Qu holding back, Little Yun would have been bruised and battered, unrecognizable even without his disguise—not just to Miss Nine, but perhaps even to his own mother.
The duel between Qu Buping and Little Yun was thrilling, drawing cheers from the crowd. Chu Xiaoyu took the opportunity to collect money from onlookers, but the crowd shouted, “Give us something more exciting! They’ve been fighting for a while with no real injuries! How can we pay for that?”
“What to do?” Qu Buping asked Little Yun. “Brother, we need to make this show spectacular, or Xiaoyu won’t get a dime.”
Little Yun smiled, “Alright, I’m going to use the secret moves my wife taught me. Watch out.” With that, he struck a fierce blow toward Qu Buping’s face.
To make the show more exciting, Qu deliberately didn’t dodge immediately. Just as Little Yun’s fist was about to connect, he swiftly moved away.
Xiao Cui, amused by the trickery, flicked a small pebble at Qu Buping’s pressure point. As Qu tried to evade, the slight numbness caught him off guard, and Little Yun’s punch landed hard.
Little Yun quickly apologized, “Brother Qu, sorry, I didn’t mean to.” Though he said it, he secretly felt proud to have landed a hit.
Qu Buping forced a smile, but inside he was annoyed, thinking he could have easily avoided the punch if not for the sudden numbness.
Determined, Qu tried again, but the same happened twice more. Frustrated, he thought, “That rascal Little Yun knew I might not dodge well but still hit hard.” Angered, Qu struck more forcefully, causing Little Yun to take hits as well.
Little Yun’s anger flared too, thinking, “You wanted a spectacular show, so don’t blame me for hitting hard when you hurt me first.”
Thus, the two began to spar fiercely. The cheers grew louder as their fighting intensified.
Chu Xiaoyu collected more and more money. When he finally turned around, he barely recognized Qu and Yun.
He exclaimed, “What’s happened to you two? Your performance was truly amazing! Is that blood from your noses real? You fools, can’t you hit lightly?”
Qu and Little Yun, seeing him arrive with a big grin to break up the fight, vented all their frustration on him, shouting, “We’re fighting for our lives here!” They both landed heavy punches on Chu Xiaoyu, knocking him to the ground.
Suddenly, the three were entangled in a wild brawl.
