Chapter Ninety-One: The Jade Toilet in Pit Seven
“Go take a bath!” Jade's face was tinged with a seductive crimson, her gaze fixed intently on Zhang Yong.
Unbeknownst to them, it was already past nine in the evening—a late hour by most people's standards. Tang Long scratched his nose, feeling a bit awkward. He truly hadn't intended to take advantage of the situation; after all, they'd only just met, and it wasn't as if they were at some bar where, come morning, they'd be strangers again.
“Um, well…” he began.
Jade interrupted him gently, “Go take a bath first.”
Tang Long could only smile wryly. She was quite insistent, apparently fixated on the idea of ‘bathing,’ and he couldn't fathom why she was so determined to send him off to wash—what exactly did she expect of him afterward?
Fine, a bath it is!
He’d been running about all day, up early this morning, helping Li Ergou and the others set up the service station. Speaking of the service station, he wasn’t sure how things had gone—using Aunt Yang’s tactics to compete with the pretty young women from Fish Head Resort, it was a real Tian Ji’s horse race, and not easy to pull off.
Following Jade into the bathroom, Tang Long was stunned. He turned to look at her, swallowing nervously. “You brought me here to bathe—are you just trying to show off?”
Her three-story house was self-built, much larger than a typical villa—after all, all this land belonged to her. Out back was the grand workshop of the Bao Feng Carving Factory.
Though a bit off from the town center, it still counted as ‘in the vicinity,’ and even if Taoyuan County was a poverty-stricken county, property prices weren’t high, but this plot was still worth something.
But he digressed. As for her bathroom—now that was truly a bathroom. The bathroom and the bathhouse were distinct spaces. The bathroom itself was at least thirty square meters, with a bathtub big enough to fit three people lying side by side.
That alone was nothing special—wealth could buy such things. The key was, her bathtub was inlaid with jade, carved entirely from a single massive stone.
Tang Long considered himself well-traveled, but even he had rarely seen such a huge piece of jade. Even if the quality wasn't top-tier, it couldn’t be cheap.
Thankfully it was on the first floor—had it been upstairs, a bathtub weighing hundreds, even thousands of pounds would surely collapse the floor!
Jade covered her mouth with a laugh, speaking softly, “This is ‘dog’s jade.’ It looks big, but it’s not valuable, otherwise it wouldn’t have been used for a bathtub.”
Not valuable, again?
Tang Long pointed at the toilet, eyes wide. “Don’t tell me the toilet’s carved from jade as well!”
Jade smiled, “That one isn't. It’s mainly for convenience. If you want a jade toilet, you can go upstairs—there’s one up there carved from ‘Russian nephrite,’ stone from the No. 7 pit. It’s quite comfortable to sit on!”
Tang Long coughed twice, nearly choked by her words. “Do you think I’m ignorant? Maybe I don’t know jade’s worth, but I know what Russian nephrite is. Among Russian nephrite, the No. 7 pit is the most esteemed, and in the market it’s sold by the gram, more valuable than gold. You used it for a toilet? If word got out, wouldn’t people spit you to death?”
This wasn’t just luxury—it was outright wastefulness!
Imagine, sitting on a jade toilet—even if it’s Russian nephrite, that’s worth a fortune. And the No. 7 pit’s nephrite is all premium stuff—just a small plaque can sell for tens of thousands.
“There’s no plumbing, just made in the shape of a toilet—so it’s not really wasted,” Jade muttered quietly, sounding a bit aggrieved. Her ‘ex-husband’ had never cared about such matters.
“Does Yang not know the value of Russian nephrite?” Tang Long asked in surprise.
“He knows,” Jade replied softly.
“Since he knows, surely he wouldn’t be unaware of the toilet’s worth?”
To carve a toilet—even if small, it couldn’t be tiny. A block of nephrite from the No. 7 pit weighing hundreds of pounds must be worth millions.
No, nowadays No. 7 pit nephrite is legendary—none left on the market, all hoarded by collectors.
“He didn’t know it was No. 7 pit stone. When I bought it, I told him it cost twenty thousand, and there was a crack on the surface, so he always thought it was just a display piece, never paid much attention,” Jade whispered.
Tang Long was speechless. Had this woman been plotting against Yang all along?
He didn’t know whether to call him lucky or unfortunate.
“How much is that Russian nephrite worth now?” Tang Long asked.
Jade lowered her head in thought, then shook it. “I can’t estimate exactly. If carved into pieces and sold on the market, maybe ten or twenty million. As raw stone, perhaps a few million at most.”
Tang Long understood—he’d truly gotten a bargain buying the Bao Feng Carving Factory, and a rare one at that.
Just the five million he spent would barely buy her a toilet!
A toilet carved from Russian nephrite from the No. 7 pit—Tang Long felt an urge to go upstairs and see what it looked like, but in the end, he restrained himself.
It wouldn’t be prudent.
“Run me a bath!” Tang Long ordered confidently—this woman had a knack for provoking him.
This was true understated luxury, the kind that ordinary people couldn’t comprehend.
Even wealthy folk, billionaires even, probably wouldn’t dare to indulge like this.
Soon, the giant tub was filled with water. Jade intended for Tang Long to soak in the bath, not just shower.
Tang Long was curious to experience what it felt like to bathe in a jade tub.
When the water was ready, Jade, blushing, left the room. Tang Long assumed she was shy, which spared him the trouble of asking her to leave—bathing in front of someone else felt improper, even for a grown man.
Honestly, Tang Long had no designs on Jade.
He undressed and slipped into the tub, lying back with his eyes closed to enjoy the sensation. Damn, having resources really was different—even if this wasn’t the finest jade, such a massive piece was hard to come by, no matter how much money you had.
It was comfortable—cool and smooth, and lying there, he felt a deep sense of delight.
Eating from jade bowls, sitting on jade chairs, and now even toilets and bathtubs carved from jade—utter extravagance!
“What a ‘Bao Feng Carving Factory’—it’s enough to startle a man!” Tang Long lay in the tub, eyes closed in comfort, lips curling into a smile as he muttered to himself.
Creak—the bathroom door gently opened. Jade entered, carrying a stack of items in her hands.
