Author's Note on the Official Launch (Please take a moment to read)
The day has finally arrived, coming so quickly that I am struggling to process it. After finishing class and returning to my dorm, the first thing I saw upon opening my laptop was the change in the book’s status. From its launch on August 4, 2014, to today—a span of 66 days—it has inevitably reached the point of going behind a paywall. There is no way around it; this is a path every legitimate web novel must take.
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to you, my readers: Yuhao Ganggang, Wunai de Pan, Tianlai Zhiwai, Lanting Yaxu, lihuik, Jimo Xiaoxixi, Xiaoxiao Renwu 1, Hudie de Jienan, dpdddd, tinygod, Bookfriend 1729043, Bookfriend 893781, Hao Xinqing 1101, Bookfriend 2519989, Bookfriend 2048509... and so many others. I remember you all. Whenever I felt lazy, thinking of you gave me fresh motivation. With you, this book will go much further.
Furthermore, I must thank my editor, Xia Zhi (Liuyun). Since I signed with Zongheng, my book’s performance hasn't been stellar, yet Sister Liuyun has given me recommendation after recommendation. Whenever I had questions I didn't understand, she was always infinitely patient in explaining them to me. I don’t know who the best editor at Zongheng is, but Sister Liuyun is undoubtedly the best editor in my heart.
Regarding the book itself, there may be occasional typos or clunky sentences. Please feel free to leave comments in the review section. If something is poorly written or feels cliché, you can speak your mind freely there. As long as the criticism is fair and reasonable, I will humbly accept it.
The final matter concerns subscriptions after the paywall. I am a newcomer and a junior in university, attending an ordinary institution. I am also preparing for graduate school entrance exams, and sometimes I feel like there isn't enough time in the day. However, I love novels, and I love writing them even more. It is my passion, and you are the motivation that keeps me going and drives me to continue down this path.
I know that once the book goes behind a paywall, I will lose many readers for various reasons. Subscribing costs two or three cents per thousand words; an automatic subscription costs roughly three yuan a month. To say I write novels solely for passion and not for money would be a lie—it would be deceptive. So, I truly need your subscriptions. I really, really need them, because a subscription doesn't just represent money; it represents the ability for me to see how many people are paying attention to this book and how many are supporting me. You are the real reason I have managed to come this far.
If you can, please support me. I am begging those who like this book to subscribe. As a junior in college, I don't want to engage in superficialities or say hypocritical things. Whether a novel can make it to the end is a matter of harsh reality, and subscriptions are a crucial part of that for every single book.
As I said before, I am begging those who like this book—please subscribe.
Of course, some of you may not want to spend money, and that is fine. It is only three yuan, but I sincerely implore you not to read pirated versions. I truly hope you will let me know you exist. Even if it is just one person, please join the reader group: 368243586. I will help you read the book without you having to spend a cent. Truly, I am not lying to you—as long as you genuinely like this story, that is enough!
