Apologize? Chen Yang looked at Shen Yanran and sneered, "Who do you think you are? Do you really believe you deserve an apology from me? You’re not nearly as important as you imagine."

"Chen Yang, it’s clearly your fault. Why won’t you apologize? You’re really too much!" Shen Yanran was furious.

"Yanran, it’s not like that. This is my fault, I overstepped. If anyone should apologize, let it be me!" Su Tang’s brow was furrowed so tightly it seemed it might reach her hairline. She had never imagined things would escalate this far.

"Xiao Tang, this has nothing to do with you!" Shen Yanran refused to accept Su Tang’s gesture. "Chen Yang, this is your last chance. Apologize to me right now!"

Chen Yang remained unmoved.

Just then, Di Hongwei stepped forward, accompanied by the Hu brothers, Hu Qing and Hu Yang. Di Hongwei strode up to Chen Yang, towering over him with a swaggering arrogance. "Kid, I’ve been annoyed by you for a while now. If you know what’s good for you, kneel and apologize, or you won’t walk out of this room tonight!"

Having a chance to show off in front of the goddess was exactly what Di Hongwei wanted.

Chen Yang glanced at him, "If you’re eager to die, try jumping out the window. Stop buzzing around like a fly—so irritating."

"Damn it, what did you just say? Are you looking for trouble?" Hu Qing barked angrily.

Hu Yang cracked his knuckles and threatened, "If you dare disrespect Young Master Di, I can tell you for sure, you’re finished!"

Di Hongwei waved a hand, signaling his two henchmen not to act yet—he still wanted to put on a show.

With a smirk, he said, "Chen Yang, do you know whose property this hotel belongs to?"

Chen Yang feigned confusion, "No idea. Is it yours?"

Di Hongwei’s smile turned cold. "It belongs to the Murong family. I’m quite familiar with the manager here. With just a word from me, you’ll be carried out on a stretcher. Do you believe it?"

Chen Yang shook his head and deliberately sighed with relief, "Oh, you scared me. I thought this hotel belonged to you. Turns out it’s the Murong family’s."

"Fool, my father has long-standing business ties with the Murong family!" Di Hongwei said confidently. "Messing with me is the same as messing with the Murong family. Kneel or I’ll make sure you disappear without a trace!"

Borrowing power to intimidate others?

Chen Yang held back a laugh and replied with mock seriousness, "By your logic, I really ought to be scared!"

"Brother Da Li, maybe you should just apologize. Let’s not make this worse." Su Tang pouted, her face full of worry. "They’re powerful and have the Murong family backing them. You can’t fight them!"

Chen Yang knew only Su Tang’s heart was pure, worried he’d get into trouble. But as for these punks before him, he didn’t give them a second thought.

"Xiao Tang, step aside." Chen Yang said softly, rolling up his sleeves as if preparing for a fight.

"What’s your plan?" Di Hongwei scoffed. "You, a country bumpkin, think you can throw hands?"

"Young Master Di, stop talking. Let’s beat him up first. He’ll learn his lesson!" With that, Hu Yang and Hu Qing charged at Chen Yang without hesitation.

It seemed a fight was inevitable.

"Ah..." Su Tang couldn’t bear to watch and covered her eyes.

Chen Yang didn’t waste any effort; with a simple sideways movement, he dodged their punches with ease. Those two were less competent than street thugs—utterly useless.

By now, Murong Xue’er should be arriving soon. Chen Yang didn’t plan to waste time. With a punch and a kick, he sent Hu Qing and Hu Yang flying into the wall, leaving them unconscious.

The scene stunned not only Di Hongwei, but also the three girls, all of whom were in disbelief. Who would have thought that a mere country bumpkin could fight so well? No wonder Su Tang called him "Brother Da Li."

Smiling, Chen Yang walked step by step toward Di Hongwei.

Di Hongwei swallowed nervously, backing away. "Chen—Chen Yang, what are you planning?"

Chen Yang sneered, "Didn’t you just demand I kneel and apologize? Here’s what I propose: I won't trouble you. Just slap yourself a hundred times and we’ll call it even."

With nothing better to do, Chen Yang found the cat-and-mouse game rather amusing. Better to have a little fun than sit idle.

Di Hongwei’s face was full of disbelief. "Chen Yang, even if you know some martial arts, you’re still a nobody. If you dare touch me, the Murong family won’t let you off!"

Just seconds earlier, Di Hongwei had secretly sent a message to the manager for help. As long as he could stall Chen Yang, he’d win.

"Chen Yang, don’t be reckless—this isn’t the place for you to act out!" Shen Yanran snapped.

Chen Yang flashed a wicked grin. "You haven’t known me long enough to understand my character. I mean what I say—one hundred slaps means exactly that. If you refuse, I’ll break your legs."

His words shocked everyone present, even Su Tang, who had believed Da Li was a good person. Who could have guessed he’d be so ruthless?

"Lunatic, you’re a lunatic!" Shen Yanran’s brows furrowed. "If you dare hurt someone, aren’t you afraid of the law?"

The law?

Chen Yang almost wanted to laugh. He knew all too well: in a sense, Earth was like the world of cultivation, where only the strong survived. The so-called law was merely a shackle for those without power or influence. For Chen Yang, as long as he didn’t kill anyone, the law was a joke.

Chen Yang looked at Shen Yanran, "For the sake of your mother’s friendship with mine, I won’t hold this against you."

Hearing that, Shen Yanran was indignant. "I don’t understand how my mother knows yours, or why she insisted I meet you. You’re nothing but a brute!"

Just then, the private room’s door swung open. A group of people filed in, all dressed in suits. Leading them was a middle-aged, bald man.

The moment Di Hongwei saw the bald man, his anxiety dissipated.

"Manager Zhao, you’re finally here!" Di Hongwei breathed a sigh of relief.

"Young Master Di, what happened?" Manager Zhao asked.

Di Hongwei wasted no time, embellishing the story as he recounted everything that had happened.

In the end, Manager Zhao’s sharp gaze fell on Chen Yang. "Well, you’ve got guts, causing trouble here. Do you realize where you are?"

Chen Yang dug at his ear dismissively. "Isn’t this the Murong family’s territory?"

Manager Zhao snapped, "Since you know, you still dare make trouble? Are you tired of living?"

"Manager Zhao, don’t waste words. Break his legs first!" Di Hongwei egged him on, eager for chaos.

"Young Master Di, hold on. Let me clarify things first." Manager Zhao was somewhat rational. "Kid, who are you? What’s your background?"

He wanted to know who he was dealing with before acting.

Chen Yang didn’t answer.

The three girls chimed in, "He’s just a country bumpkin, a nobody. He’s got no background!"

Chen Yang smiled casually. "They’re right—I have no background. But I’m waiting for someone, and maybe that person has a bit of background."

Waiting for someone? Who?

Everyone was confused.

Manager Zhao was the first to ask, "Who are you waiting for?"

Chen Yang replied, "Her name is Murong Xue’er."

His words stunned the entire room.

Murong Xue’er was the Murong family’s heiress, her fame unrivaled throughout Yunzhou. Everyone knew her name.

No one expected Chen Yang to speak so shamelessly, as if it were nothing.

"Hmph, lunatic," Shen Yanran said with disdain.

The three girls burst into laughter. "You idiot! Country bumpkin, nobody! Just look at yourself—how could you possibly know Murong Xue’er? You’re not even worthy to carry her shoes!"

Di Hongwei patted Chen Yang’s shoulder. "You really are shameless—even I can’t compare. Impressive!"

Manager Zhao’s face was dark. "How could my young mistress know someone as insignificant as you? By saying that, you’re insulting Miss Murong, insulting the Murong family. You’re begging for death!"

Manager Zhao served the Murong family—in ancient times, he’d be their retainer. It was only natural he spoke of Murong Xue’er with such reverence.

Chen Yang replied calmly, "That’s quite the accusation, but I can’t accept it. However, your Miss Murong said she’d treat me to dinner. She should be arriving soon."

"Lunatic, lunatic—you’re a lunatic!" Except for Su Tang, everyone else looked at Chen Yang as if he were insane.

Manager Zhao snorted coldly, "You caused trouble here, insulted Miss Murong. I can assure you, you’re finished!"
