Compared to the lively atmosphere in Lin Feng’s private room next door, the one called “Soaring Dragon and Dancing Phoenix” was anything but cheerful. There were only five people inside—four men and one woman. Several of the men were relentlessly pressuring the only woman to drink.

“Ruoxi, you should go over and offer Young Master Li a toast. As a newcomer who just graduated and joined the company, you ought to be more proactive!” A middle-aged man in a suit spoke to the young woman.

“That’s right, Miss Ruoxi. As long as you please me, I can sign a contract with your company’s products right away,” the only young man in the room said with a lecherous grin.

At this moment, Xia Ruoxi was caught in a dilemma. She regretted listening to her manager and coming to such a place alone at night. She’d heard that the young man surnamed Li in the other room was notorious for trouble, and now she realized just how much trouble she was in.

“Manager, I quit. I want to leave now.” Xia Ruoxi grabbed her bag and hurried toward the door as soon as she finished speaking.

“You little minx, looking down on me, are you? You think quitting means you can just walk out? Not a single woman I’ve set my sights on has ever managed to escape. Go and grab her for me—I’ll give you all a live demonstration of a spring palace scene,” Li Shao ordered his two bodyguards without hesitation.

The two tall men in sunglasses immediately chased after Xia Ruoxi.

Seeing them coming after her, Xia Ruoxi panicked and ran blindly, not caring about what was going on in the other rooms. She opened the door to the next private room and hurriedly slipped inside.

Lin Feng and his friends were in the midst of their revelry when their door suddenly opened and a woman in business attire rushed in.

“What’s going on? Didn’t I tell them not to let anyone disturb us in this room?” Young Master Ma immediately remarked with a frown at Lin Feng.

“I’m sorry, please let me hide here for a moment. There are bad people in the next room trying to catch me, I beg you,” Xia Ruoxi explained anxiously, bowing to everyone in the room.

Before she could finish speaking, the door that had just closed was pushed open again. The two men in black who had chased her burst in.

Lin Feng saw the two men in black enter. They were clearly bodyguards for someone important. Without a word, they tried to drag the woman back out of the room. Witnessing this, an unfamiliar anger surged within Lin Feng, as if something precious to him was being violated. Normally, he would have been scared off, but he didn’t realize this change was due to practicing the Sovereign’s Mandate. In ancient times, how could emperors ever tolerate such insolence before them?

“Gentlemen, do you think it’s appropriate to do this in my room? You didn’t even ask my permission before trying to take someone from here,” Lin Feng said, addressing the two men in black.

At his words, not only did the two men halt and look at him, but everyone else in the room also stared in surprise, as if meeting him for the first time.

“You brat, don’t play the hero. If you try to save the beauty, you’ll only end up destroying your entire family,” one of the men in black threatened menacingly.

Before he could finish, a figure flashed past everyone like lightning and charged straight at the speaking man. The other bodyguard hadn’t even had time to react before his companion was sent flying, crashing into the wall and collapsing like a mangled heap. When they looked again, he was sprawled on the floor, barely clinging to life.

Only then did everyone realize that the figure who had moved so swiftly was none other than Lin Feng—the so-called playboy, widely regarded as the good-for-nothing of Zhanhai City.

“How is this possible? How could you possibly have such skills?” Young Master Ma exclaimed, clearly shaken.

“Is there anything more you want to say? Do you still want to take her with you?” Lin Feng ignored the others and asked the remaining bodyguard.

“I—I…” The oppressive aura radiating from Lin Feng made the man stammer and unable to speak coherently.

The commotion had attracted the attention of Young Master Li in the next room. When he came out and saw one of his bodyguards limp on the ground, fate uncertain, and the other silenced by a stranger, he immediately stormed over.

“Who the hell are you? How dare you lay a hand on my men? You’re dead! No one in Zhanhai City has ever dared to touch my people before. You’re dead, and so is your whole family!” Young Master Li shouted furiously.

Young Master Li’s name was Li Si. Relying on his father’s position as the leader of Zhanhai City’s most powerful underground organization, the Dragon Soar Society, he had always acted with impunity. If Lin Feng was the number one scion of the city’s respectable circles, then Li Si was the undisputed prince of the underworld.

“Hmph, threatening me? The thing I hate most is anyone threatening my parents. Your man just flapped his filthy mouth and now he’s on the floor. Do you want to join him?” Lin Feng retorted, undaunted.

Barely had Lin Feng finished speaking when his palm struck Li Si’s face with a resounding crack. With skills like Lin Feng’s, there were few in the nation who could dodge such a blow. Li Si, caught completely off guard, was sent sprawling to the floor, several teeth flying from his mouth. He fainted on the spot, perhaps never believing that anyone in Zhanhai City would dare strike him, let alone slap him so mercilessly.

Looking at the unconscious Li Si, Lin Feng turned to the other bodyguard. “Tell your master that if he’s not convinced, he can come find me. My name is Lin Feng. Get them out of here.”

The remaining bodyguard was so terrified by Lin Feng’s display that he didn’t dare utter another word. He only nodded frantically and, with the help of the club’s staff, quickly removed Li Si and the other bodyguard from the room.

Once Li Si and his men were gone, the room exploded in uproar.

“Lin Feng, you’ve made a huge mistake! Do you know who you just hit? That was Li Si! His father is the boss of the Dragon Soar Society—someone not even your father can afford to offend!” Young Master Ma exclaimed.

“Thank you for the warning. I’ll handle the trouble I’ve caused myself. I’ll leave now. Sorry for ruining the night, everyone—I’ll treat you all to drinks another time.” With that, Lin Feng took the woman who had just burst in and walked out the door.
