"No! I didn't! Absolutely not." Jiang Chen said nervously.
Su Yike looked at him suspiciously. "Absolutely not?"
Jiang Chen affirmed: "Absolutely not!"
Su Yike finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Anyway, you go do whatever you need to do. You have your career, and I have mine. And I know your identity is no ordinary matter—you have your own mission. One day, I'll stand side by side with you."
Jiang Chen was stunned for a moment. "It's very dangerous..."
Su Yike snorted. "Dangerous? What isn't dangerous? You can choke to death eating, you can drown drinking water. As long as you do anything, there's danger."
Jiang Chen shook his head. "It's different. When you're a police officer, you deal with small matters every day—there isn't too much mortal danger. But once you enter the cultivation world, the danger becomes infinitely greater."
Su Yike pinched Jiang Chen's chin. "What are you pretending for? As a police officer, I can uphold justice; as a cultivator, I can uphold justice too. Besides, even if I don't take risks as a police officer, like you said, with times of chaos approaching, can I really stay safe and uninvolved?"
With that said, Su Yike had already made her stance clear.
Jiang Chen said: "You can join the 509 Institute to learn these things, but you must absolutely guarantee your own safety. At least while I'm away, you need to protect yourself."
Su Yike stood up. "Do I need you to tell me... It's getting late. I have to go to work. You can leave now!"
Su Yike had given him his dismissal. Jiang Chen glanced at the time and realized it was indeed getting late—there wasn't much time left for anything else.
"I'm leaving. It's getting cold, so stay warm."
Jiang Chen left the 509 Institute. Su Yike watched his departing figure, lost in thought for a long time.
"The next time we meet, I'll be better too!"
Jiang Chen didn't take a car on his way back—he chose to walk instead.
As for Li Jingshou, he had officially entered the cultivation stage and was now a bona fide cultivator. Jiang Chen had left him a body-tempering technique. As long as he practiced it diligently, his future achievements would naturally be boundless.
However, although the kid was willing to train, he was still a child after all. Many things needed Chong Li to watch over him, but in Qingcheng, his progress would definitely be fast—there was no doubt about that.
As for Jiang Ning, Lin Ning, and Lin Mo, he didn't plan to say goodbye to them, because there was completely no need—it wasn't like he wasn't coming back.
Before they grew up, he still needed to strengthen his own strength.
The destruction of the Jiang family couldn't have been accomplished by a single family alone. There had to be a hidden hand behind it, so all of this needed to be investigated.
But for now, he had to go to the Heavenly Master Conference. Although it was still some time before it would be held, in the period leading up to it, all sorts of riffraff would come out to cause trouble.
Jiang Chen needed to go south to guard against this.
The Heavenly Master Conference, held once every fifty years, could not afford any mistakes. If there was a slip-up, it would damage the authority of this generation's Heavenly Master.

But for now, his master was temporarily acting as the sect leader, so he could return a bit later.
Before leaving Qingcheng, Jiang Chen packed a few clothes at home.
Ning Rou helped him organize his luggage.
"How many days until you come back this time?" Ning Rou asked cautiously.
Jiang Chen didn't know how to answer, because to be honest, even he didn't know when he'd be able to return—he wasn't clear on the time either.
"When you've made the Ning Group one of the top five companies in the country, that's when I'll come back." Jiang Chen made a joke.
But Ning Rou said seriously: "Is it true that you'll come back when I make the company one of the top five in the country?"
Ning Rou's serious expression didn't look like she was joking along with Jiang Chen at all.
In response, Jiang Chen looked earnestly into her crystal-clear eyes and said: "It's true."
A single word sealed a lifetime bond.
The two silently finished packing. Jiang Chen went downstairs and hailed a cab. Ning Rou watched his departing figure, and finally, Jiang Chen disappeared into the stream of traffic.
Ning Rou could no longer hold it in. She knelt on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.
.........
On the road south, Jiang Chen arrived alone at the high-speed rail station. This train went directly to Longhu Mountain, so he chose this one. As for why he didn't fly—it was more because he also wanted to see the road he had traveled to get here.
After passing through the ticket gate and having his ticket checked, he sat down in his seat and leaned the chair back a little.
Soon, someone sat down beside Jiang Chen.
"Leaving without a word—is there nothing in Qingcheng that can keep you here?"
Jiang Chen closed his eyes, as if he had felt it long ago. "What, did the 509 Institute send you on a mission?"
Li Changsheng took off his mask and said: "No, not that. I've hit a bottleneck. I want to break through, but I don't know what to do, so I came out to take a look. And coincidentally, you were heading south, so we might as well travel together."
Jiang Chen sighed, pulled out an eye mask from his bag, and said: "I'm going to sleep. Keep your voice down."
Li Changsheng pursed his lips and opened his phone to listen to music.
The high-speed rail to Longhu Mountain took six hours. Jiang Chen got up, went to the restroom, and came back.
Just as he stepped out of the restroom, he saw a man wearing a strange fisher hat and a gray cotton coat. Seeing Jiang Chen come out, the man said: "Thanks, I'm in a rush to use the restroom."
Jiang Chen nodded slightly.

The man had a certain unusual aura about him, but Jiang Chen couldn't quite distinguish what exactly it was.
Back at his seat, he found Li Changsheng wiping his clothes, as if something had gotten on them.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Chen sat back down and asked.
Li Changsheng looked rather annoyed. "I was just listening to music, and then—what do you know—this guy... a man who was walking all wobbly knocked over my cola on the table."
Jiang Chen didn't think much of it. After all, things like that happened often on the high-speed rail—a little bump was normal. Fortunately, Jiang Chen had chosen the seat closer to the window.
The high-speed rail started moving again. It had just stopped at a station earlier. Li Changsheng said curiously: "I asked around with the people above—you seem to have a very mysterious identity."
Jiang Chen smiled. "You want to know about me?"
Li Changsheng shook his head. "I'm just interested in you. But the way I make friends, I only care about whether we click. And you're someone who clicks with me. We can be friends, right?"
Jiang Chen said nothing, just nodded. Li Changsheng seemed genuinely happy and even split the tangerines he'd bought at the roadside with Jiang Chen—half for him.
Then, unhurriedly, he opened another bottle of cola for himself.
The two chatted, when a discordant sound arose in the carriage.
"Watch where you're walking, will you? You've bumped into me twice..."
"Yeah, I just shelled my sunflower seeds, and now they're all over the floor."
Li Changsheng turned to look, then quickly tucked his cola away.
Jiang Chen turned to look as well, a puzzled expression on his face.
He recognized the man—it was the one who had just been wearing the fisher hat and gray cotton coat, the one who had said thanks to him.
Only now, the man was wearing a black overcoat, his hat was gone, and he walked with a limp, as if he had just learned how to walk.
Jiang Chen asked in confusion: "Was he wearing this same outfit just now?"
Li Changsheng took a look and confirmed: "Yeah. From when you left for the restroom to when I saw him—he was wearing this same outfit."
Only then did Jiang Chen realize something was wrong!
This might not be the same person!
