A sharp gasp rang out, drawing the flight attendant's attention.

Seeing her glance their way, the two immediately stopped their little antics, pretending that nothing had happened. The rest of the journey was relatively peaceful. Aside from a few flight attendants who recognized Jiang Yan and came over to ask for photos and autographs, nothing else of note occurred.

After landing and walking just a short distance from the jet bridge, they saw Chen Qianyang waving at Jiang Yan from afar.

"He's here again!" Jiang Yan said, resting her forehead in her palm.

"Wasn't he behind us? How did he arrive before we did?" Su Chen asked, looking perplexed.

"Who knows!" Jiang Yan replied, sounding annoyed.

Su Chen shook his head. This Chen Qianyang truly lived up to his reputation as a clingy plaster.

"Jiang Yan, want to head out together? I'll drop you off!"

As they approached, Chen Qianyang stepped forward to extend an invitation. Jiang Yan felt helpless, but she could only force a smile.

"How did you manage to get ahead of us, Young Master Chen?"

Seeing the surprise on Jiang Yan's face, Chen Qianyang said with great enthusiasm, "Oh! My original flight needed to be rebooked anyway! I thought it would be perfect to switch to your flight. But, as it turned out, your flight was already full. So, I simply booked an even earlier one to wait for you here, so we could head back to the city together."

He sighed with a look of regret. "Ah, if only your flight hadn't been full, we could have chatted on the plane. What a shame!"

*Don't! Please, don't!* Jiang Yan thought, rejecting the idea a thousand times over, though she kept a bright smile on her face. "That really is a shame!"

She then shifted the subject. "However, Young Master Chen, I’m afraid we can’t head back to the city with you. We’ve already arranged for a friend to come and pick us up."

"Oh?" Chen Qianyang looked taken aback, but after a brief pause, he said dismissively, "That’s fine, we can all go together!"

This brazenness was even too much for Su Chen to stomach. "I’ll give Brother Lu a call and see if there’s still room in his car." At this point, he had no choice but to bring up Lu Yuanqing to see if it would work.

"The Heavenly King Lu?"

Chen Qianyang’s face immediately fell. Although he was the young heir of Dynasty Entertainment, Lu Yuanqing was a long-established superstar in the entertainment industry. His status within the field was top-tier, and even the heads of entertainment companies had to show him a certain degree of respect. While Chen Qianyang might dare to flirt with starlets, he absolutely did not dare to do so in front of Lu Yuanqing.

"Well... if Heavenly King Lu is there, I won't intrude. Maybe... maybe another time!" Chen Qianyang said sheepishly.

Seeing that the tactic worked, Jiang Yan felt a surge of joy. "Alright, alright, then we’ll be off! Let’s meet again another time!"

With that, she quickly skirted past him, not giving him a chance to react as she walked ahead. After they had walked a fair distance, Su Chen looked back at Chen Qianyang’s conflicted expression, which couldn't help but make him chuckle.

"Is he like this with everyone?" Su Chen asked curiously.

Jiang Yan thought for a moment and replied with a serious expression, "Not necessarily. At least, he’s not like this with male celebrities!"

Su Chen almost choked on his own breath—that was stating the obvious!

"Haha, just kidding! Let me put it this way: as far as the entertainment industry goes, if a female celebrity has even a bit of beauty, he’s like this with all of them! Once he latches on, it’s incredibly hard to shake him off. We were just lucky today!"

This left Su Chen completely speechless. Given Chen Qianyang’s behavior, he was nothing more than a pathetic "lick-dog." As the son of Dynasty Entertainment, realistically speaking, he could probably just crook a finger and many starlets would crawl into his bed themselves. Yet, why was he obsessed with this particular brand of pursuit? What kind of quirk was this?

Hearing Jiang Yan explain that he was like this with all female stars, Su Chen suddenly felt a strange sense of respect for him.

To fawn over one person is to be a "lick-dog," but to fawn over ten thousand is to be a "warrior!" This guy had vision!

Upon reaching the city, the car first dropped Jiang Yan off at her home in the capital. After agreeing on a time and place to meet the following day, the driver took Su Chen to the hotel arranged by the event organizers. Jiang Yan had warned him earlier that the location was quite remote, and Su Chen had expected a half-hour drive at most.

To his surprise, the journey lasted over an hour, passing through several small towns and stretches of empty farmland. Along the way, many areas didn't even have streetlights. *Have we reached the countryside?*

Just as he was wondering, the surroundings suddenly transformed into something high-end. The roads became wide and pristine, the greenery grew lush and vibrant, and even the air felt fresher.

"Is this the place?" When the car came to a stop, Su Chen pointed at the gate in front of them, confirming with the driver in surprise.

After receiving a firm nod, Su Chen finally relaxed; otherwise, he would have truly thought the driver had taken him to the wrong place. This was clearly a manor! While it lacked grand pavilions and towers, it was filled with elegant water features and walkways. Every so often, a small, uniquely designed building would appear, adding to its charm.

Guided by the staff, Su Chen walked quite a distance before reaching the main building, where he was to stay. The reception area in the lobby had already been set up, but aside from a few busy staff members, there was hardly anyone else around.

Tomorrow’s attendees were all prominent figures in the industry. Most of them had their own homes in the capital, and those who didn't usually met up with friends upon arrival. Consequently, almost no one arrived early; he was likely the only one.

Su Chen finished his registration and pulled his suitcase toward the elevators at a leisurely pace. Upon arriving at the elevator lobby, he paused. Waiting for the elevator was a petite woman. She wore a loose-fitting sweater and straight-leg casual trousers, giving off an air of languid ease. Short hair usually makes someone look neat and sharp, but combined with her outfit, the mix gave off a different, unique vibe. It wasn't jarring or awkward—just distinct.

*Hmm?*

Seeming to sense his gaze, she turned to look at him. A flash of surprise crossed her face as her eyes swept over him, then she gave a slight nod and turned back.

Cold and aloof. She was beautiful, but she possessed an aura that kept people at arm's length.

*Ding!*

The elevator doors opened. She stepped in first, and Su Chen followed.

"What floor?" Seeing that he was struggling slightly with his luggage, she asked after pressing her own button.

Su Chen was caught off guard, but he replied politely, "The 9th floor, thank you!"

The woman nodded, pressed the button for the 9th floor, and said nothing more.

*Is she here for the ceremony too?*

She looked somewhat familiar, but as Su Chen scanned his memory, he couldn't quite place her.
