Chapter 136: Magma Armor at Full Power
“Stop banging on the door out there. Just give me a moment, and I’ll open the door so we can talk—how about that?”
Fang Tang grimaced as he looked at the slightly warped doorframe.
This was a level-five residence!
And yet, just three punches had left it like this. Whoever was outside was even tougher than a tank. At the very least, a level-five residence could easily withstand tank shells—something Fang Tang believed he couldn’t achieve.
No sooner had he finished speaking than the pounding on the door ceased.
After a brief hesitation, Fang Tang donned his molten armor and pushed the door open.
Bathed in the light of the spotlight by the doorway stood a short but outrageously muscular man, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at Fang Tang.
[Evolution level: Stage 8, Segment 6. Sequence talents: 031—Savage Evolution, 041—Impenetrable Fortress, 205—Double Damage.
Look at those exaggerated sequence talents. That “Impenetrable Fortress” alone makes him untouchable. Such an extreme defensive talent means that even the most relentless attackers have to admit defeat.
However, as I mentioned earlier, he does have a weakness. While the impenetrable fortress can’t be broken, the sixth strike combined with the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow can create a flaw—you just have to seize the opportunity.]
Seeing this prompt, Fang Tang’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably.
The Octopus had clearly spared no expense trying to kill them.
An assassin of this caliber was considered top-tier even in the Abyssal World. An eighth-stage evolver could dominate anywhere. Their realm was distorted by transcendence, not the infinite abyss.
After some thought, Fang Tang asked, “I have to die?”
The brawny man nodded silently, his voice hoarse. “That’s the order I received. Here’s some advice: let me kill you quickly, and I’ll make it painless.”
Fang Tang scoffed. “So I should be thanking you? But tell me, as an eighth-stage evolver, are you really willing to be the Octopus’s lackey so easily?”
A mocking sneer appeared on the man’s face, but he said nothing.
Fang Tang suddenly realized this man was clearly a professional assassin cultivated by the Octopus—there was no chance of turning him.
So...
There was only one option left: fight.
Fang Tang took a deep breath, his eyes suddenly sharpening. The Great Summer Dragon Sparrow rang out as it was drawn from its sheath, slicing a cold gleam through the air.
The muscular man sneered, his fist the size of a sandbag, and swung hard at Fang Tang.
Suddenly, a terrifying shockwave swept through the abyss.
Fang Tang’s heart skipped a beat. Activating Shadow Flash, he dodged the powerful punch, then slipped behind the man, swinging the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow straight at his neck.
But when the blade was just an inch away, the man’s body twisted grotesquely.
His arms contorted unnaturally, trapping the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow between them.
Sequence 041: Impenetrable Fortress.
Not only was the defense ridiculously strong, but the user transformed his entire body into a mobile humanoid war fortress. Every hair on his body became a weapon—far more formidable than a pacifist’s powers.
With the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow restrained, a shadow fell over Fang Tang’s heart.
Before he could devise a counter, the man made his move.
His body twisted a full 180 degrees, completely disregarding human anatomy.
His crimson eyes turned pitch black as faint, haunting roars escaped his lips.
Sequence 031: Savage Evolution.
This allowed his entire body’s attributes to be fully enhanced, every muscle perfectly coordinated. Combined with Impenetrable Fortress, he was a terrifying humanoid monster.
Fang Tang summoned the strength of a bear, trying to wrench the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow free, but it seemed fused with the man’s arms—impossible to pull out.
“Damn it!”
Fang Tang cursed, rapidly enlarging his two reverse blades as scorching heat spread through the abyss.
He swung, aiming the double spiked blades at the man’s neck.
The man opened his mouth and bit down on the blades, ignoring the heat that could ignite a person.
Truly, that defense was unparalleled!
Fang Tang sighed and released the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow, retreating rapidly to begin guerrilla tactics.
If he couldn’t match strength and defense, then he would rely on speed.
As long as he was fast enough, he could keep the fight balanced.
Though it was a self-deception of sorts.
Fang Tang kept darting in and out, but the man was helpless against his speed. Frustrated, the man slammed the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow into the ground.
“Roar!”
The man bellowed fiercely, shaking the abyss so violently that mud fell from the ceiling.
Fang Tang’s head spun from the roar. Glancing out of the corner of his eye, he saw the man bend his legs, followed by a powerful tremor.
Like a cannonball, the man charged at Fang Tang.
“What the—this is pure physical force simulating Sequence 444: Explosive Pressure.”
Fang Tang was slightly surprised but activated Shadow Flash again.
No matter how well you control it, if I’m fast enough, you won’t catch me.
Right now, Fang Tang felt a mischievous thrill, as if saying, “You chase me, but if you catch me, I’ll have my fun.”
Though his tastes weren’t quite that dark.
Under extreme speed, his shadow stretched endlessly through the abyss. Fang Tang flashed beside the Great Summer Dragon Sparrow and yanked it free, then faced the man once more.
Clang!
The clash of metal rang out.
The Great Summer Dragon Sparrow pressed against the man’s skin, but upon closer look, the hair on the man’s arms had turned harder than metal, sparking where it met the blade.
“Wow!”
Fang Tang blinked, hoping his eyes might help.
Though usually unreliable, they came through in critical moments.
[We are currently at a disadvantage. To win, there’s only one way: set a trap.
Make full use of your molten armor. You should know that Impenetrable Fortress isn’t as sturdy as you think.]
Not as sturdy as I think? What does that mean?
Fang Tang was puzzled, but the prompt was clear—he just had to act.
He began laying the trap, making full use of his molten armor.
Suddenly, the abyss filled with orange-red magma as Fang Tang pushed his molten armor to full power.
Creating an artificial magma environment, and able to manipulate it with his armor, Fang Tang moved through the abyss like a fish in water, his speed greatly increased.
As for the man, he could only circle in place, desperately searching for Fang Tang’s form.
But Fang Tang was too fast!
The man was now like a fool, utterly powerless against him.
Moreover, magma surrounded the man. Only a three-meter radius beneath his feet remained magma-free, but the thick molten rock continually compressed his living space, and it was only a matter of time before even that was covered.
After setting the magma domain, Fang Tang stopped, breathing heavily.
But when he looked at his handiwork, a smile spread across his face.
This only confined the man—for the real attack was yet to come.
Fang Tang bent down and plunged both hands into the molten rock.
He was using his molten armor at full power for the first time; its strength was still unknown, but Fang Tang was eager to find out.
With a powerful heave, a towering figure rose from the abyss.
