Reality Illusion.

Amidst a landscape strewn with corpses, Liu Yiran stood with his hands tucked into his sleeves, a faint, placid smile on his face as he gazed at Wang Gang, who was perched on the opposite hill.

The two had been locked in a standoff, maintaining this posture for quite some time.

Beneath Liu Yiran’s feet, the once-pallid remains had turned completely pitch-black, with wisps of dark mist curling upward from them.

Sequence 063: Source of Poison.

Liu Yiran had pushed this sequence to its absolute limit. The vast expanse of corpses beneath him and behind him had all turned black, with some even corroding into pools of toxic sludge.

"You’ve dragged us into this illusion, but you can’t actually harm us. There’s no point in dragging this out—why don't we strike a deal?" Liu Yiran said with a smile.

Wang Gang’s face darkened. He cast a wary glance at the sea of blackened corpses behind Liu and replied in a deep voice, "No one leaves this place. Even if I can't finish you off, your subordinates lack your strength."

Liu Yiran’s expression remained unchanged, his eyes still narrowed in a smile. "You are welcome to try. I trust my team."

"That kid with the incredible speed is the strongest in your squad, isn't he? Decent defense, clever tricks, but his actual power is lacking—he couldn't even break through my barrier." Wang Gang offered a scornful laugh before continuing, "If the fast one is like that, the others aren't even worth mentioning. A Fifth-Order Awakener can't take a single punch from me; they aren't even an appetizer."

Liu Yiran was about to speak when his ears suddenly twitched, and the smile on his face deepened.

Wang Gang whipped his head around, his expression growing more ominous. Veins bulged on his forehead, a clear sign of impending rage.

"Captain, I’m here!" Fang Tang shouted upon spotting Liu Yiran on the black hill.

He accelerated, dragging six figures cloaked in white mist behind him as they soared through the air.

In the blink of an eye, Fang Tang reached Liu Yiran. When he saw the black hill beneath the captain's feet, he halted. The stench rising from the mountain of decay surged into his nose, making him dizzy and his stomach churn with nausea.

Suppressing the urge to vomit, Fang Tang asked, "Captain, haven't you finished off this big boss yet?"

"If it were that easy, he wouldn't be an Eighth-Order Fallen," Liu Yiran replied with a roll of his eyes.

Fang Tang glanced at Wang Gang upon hearing this. "True. This is a reality illusion he created—a spiritual world. How could we possibly beat him on his own turf?"

"Do you have a solution?" Liu Yiran asked, casting a thoughtful look at the six figures. Sensing the potent spiritual energy radiating from them, he seemed to realize something.

Fang Tang nodded. "The most straightforward way is to wear him down. Once Wang Gang’s spiritual energy is depleted, that’s when we make our move. The problem is, it’ll take a while."

He pointed at the six people behind him with a grin. "These are Wang Gang’s spiritual batteries. With them around, his reserves are immense. However, I’ve turned them against him. They’ve decided to team up with us to take him down."

"Beautifully done!" Liu Yiran clapped in approval.

Wang Gang stood to the side, his face darkening several shades. The conversation between Fang Tang and Liu Yiran made no attempt to avoid him; in fact, Fang Tang had deliberately emphasized the word "turned" just to provoke him.

"You..." Wang Gang glared, about to berate Fang Tang and the six, but was cut off.

"You what? You’re the one standing there yapping away, being a nuisance. You have the nerve to be angry? You should look at your own actions before you scold them for choosing the right path. Where do you get the gall?"

In battle, breaking the enemy’s spirit is paramount. After Fang Tang’s tirade, Wang Gang’s face was as black as coal.

Liu Yiran listened from the side, waiting for Fang Tang to finish before chiming in lazily, "He’s right. You’re nothing but scum, yet you talk about truth and beauty? You’re allowed to enslave others, but they aren't allowed to turn over a new leaf?"

Fang Tang looked at Liu Yiran and laughed. "This guy has skin as thick as a wall."

"Indeed," Liu Yiran agreed.

As the two traded barbs, Wang Gang was incensed.

"You go too far! Zhang Ming, are you certain you want to betray me?"

In this spiritual world, his rage manifested physically. Black-purple flames erupted above his shoulders and head, as if they would incinerate the sky, making him look like a wrathful deity.

Zhang Ming, Liu Ji, and the others exchanged nervous glances. They had rarely seen Wang Gang in such a state. Seeing it now, their desire for revenge flickered out, replaced by a sense of trepidation.

Noticing this, Fang Tang cursed silently. He exchanged a look with Liu Yiran, and his figure dissolved into a black shadow, appearing beside Wang Gang in a flash.

The Xia Longque blade carved a cold, lethal arc toward Wang Gang’s neck.

But three inches from the skin, the blade was halted by an invisible film.

Wang Gang turned his head, staring coldly at Fang Tang.

Fang Tang grinned and pointed to the other side.

Wang Gang froze. His head rotated a full hundred and eighty degrees to lock eyes with Liu Yiran.

Liu Yiran, still smiling, pressed a slender finger against the invisible film, corroding a tiny hole through it until his fingertip touched Wang Gang’s skin.

Suddenly, Wang Gang’s body convulsed, his black pupils filled with panic.

"Aaaah!" Wang Gang roared. An invisible force erupted from him, catching Fang Tang and Liu Yiran off guard and sending them flying backward.

Wang Gang bent his knees and shot into the sky like a cannonball, the sheer force flattening the mountain of corpses beneath him.

In mid-air, Fang Tang’s eyes widened. The world went dark for a split second as he realized Wang Gang was already upon him.

"Damn it!"

Fang Tang cursed as a massive force exploded against his chest. He was slammed into the remains below, creating a deep crater.

Lying in the cold filth, Fang Tang clutched his chest, a trickle of blood spilling from his lips. He was struck with terror.

*Can an Eighth-Order Fallen exert this much power with physical strength alone? My Steel Aegis couldn't even withstand that blow.*

"My ribs are almost shattered!" Fang Tang winced. Seeing Wang Gang charging toward him again, he ignored the pain, leaped up, and vanished into a shadow.

"Captain, we can't win this!" Fang Tang sighed as he reached Liu Yiran.

"Normal," Liu Yiran said lightly. "You, a Fifth-Order, trying to defeat an Eighth-Order Fallen? You’re dreaming, unless you possess a top-ten sequence talent."

Fang Tang: "..."

"Then what do we do?"

"Don't we still have those six little brothers?" Liu Yiran gestured with his chin toward the dazed group.

Fang Tang raised an eyebrow and nodded slowly. "I know what to do."

With that, he used Shadow Step again to reach the six.

"I need your help."

The six were stunned, then looked at Fang Tang with strange expressions.

"What are you trying to do?"

"You’ve seen the Boss's power. Give it up, Fang Tang. There’s Wang Gang everywhere."

"You can't beat the Boss. I told you so. Now we're finished—those two idiots have dragged us into this mess."

"Damn it, this is bad luck. Should we just retreat now?"
