Tong Sheng was still in a meeting. After muting himself, he clicked in, but neither he nor Wan Yang appeared on camera, following the same practice.

Su Xiang rotated his phone and narrowed his eyes, focusing on another girl who occasionally appeared in the frame. For some reason, she looked vaguely familiar.

Only when he saw her pouring wine for Qi Fei did he realize why Qi Fei seemed so off.

In the corner of the video, Qi Fei was seen downing one glass of alcohol after another.

Su Xiang’s brows involuntarily furrowed. “Qi Qi, are you drinking?”

Hearing someone speak was like a lifeline for Yao Yao, who thought no one had answered the call all along.

Quickly, she said, “I don’t know what’s wrong with Qi Fei today. She locked herself in the private room and has been drinking nonstop since she arrived.”

“She’s too strong for me to stop.”

Having witnessed Qi Fei’s legendary feats of knocking down one person after another in the club, Yao Yao could only try to pour more wine whenever Qi Fei’s glass was empty. At least the bottle in her hand was half diluted with water.

Now, everyone was restless. Even without sound, Tong Sheng could tell Qi Fei was continuously drinking.

He waved his hand and said, “Meeting’s over.”

Inside the conference room, the others exchanged glances. It was the first time they had seen the boss end a meeting because of a phone call.

But seeing their boss’s grim expression, no one dared to ask questions; they quickly left.

Tong Sheng turned on the sound and heard:

“Qi Fei has already drunk four bottles. Is there anyone in Shanghai who can come pick her up?” Yao Yao asked urgently.

She was a fan of Qi Fei, the most eager to rush forward for autographs and photos. Seeing Qi Fei like this, how could she not feel heartbroken?

Hearing this, the usually calm Tong Sheng furrowed his brow.

“Su Xiang, aren’t you with Qi Qi? Where are you?”

“Four or five bottles! Beer?”

“Shi Tou, are you crazy? Didn’t you see the bottle in her hand?”

Wan Yang said this and saw the girl next to Qi Fei pouring more wine. He grew anxious. “Don’t you see Qi Qi is drunk? Why pour more?”

Yao Yao nearly cried. “If I don’t pour, Qi Fei will just take it herself.”

“This bottle’s at least half water,” she sobbed.

“What’s wrong with Qi Qi? Why is she drinking so much? Xiang Ge, aren’t you in Shanghai too? Go check on her.”

Su Xiang finally remembered who it was. “Lin Yao, is that you?”

Yao Yao was surprised the other person recognized her and nodded repeatedly. “Yes, I’m Lin Yao.”

“I’m coming to get her now.”

He said the surroundings looked familiar. When he saw Qi Fei drinking, he immediately went downstairs. Now that he knew where she was, he quickly drove over.

“Where’s your boss? Why isn’t he trying to stop her?”

“The call won’t go through.” Otherwise, she wouldn’t have had to ask for help using Qi Fei’s phone.

Su Xiang quickly reassured them, “Qi Qi is safe in a quiet bar owned by my friend. Once I arrive, I’ll take her to the hospital.”

---

They knew Qi Fei was probably already disoriented; otherwise, she’d have reacted to hearing the water dilution.

“Ying Ying, you should go out first. I want to be alone for a while.”

Yao Yao was speechless.

She could no longer recognize the person before her.

But how could she leave? If she did, Qi Fei would definitely drink straight from the bottle.

“Be good.”

“I want to be alone.”

No one knew what happened next, but the others watched as Qi Fei staggered to her feet. The door closed, and the video showed only Qi Fei left.

Unsteady, Qi Fei fell to the floor.

“Hey.”

“Careful.”

She curled up, hugging her knees, her head buried. Though their faces were unseen, they all knew she was crying.

As they silently watched, a despairing scream came through the video.

Just hearing it, the four could feel Qi Fei’s heartbreak and hopelessness.

Soon, Qi Fei didn’t lift her head, reaching for a nearby bottle and chugging it. Only then did everyone clearly see what kind of liquor she was drinking.

Shaking the bottle, Qi Fei staggered out of frame again. The more they couldn’t see her, the more anxious they became.

Before long, Qi Fei returned to the carpet, clutching two bottles of vodka.

“Weren’t you supposed to be drinking hard liquor? Why isn’t it making you drunk?”

The voice was faint and the camera too far to catch the words clearly.

When Su Xiang rushed in anxiously, Qi Fei was already on her fifth bottle, nearly finished.

Seeing Su Xiang appear on camera finally eased everyone’s minds.

“Don’t scare me, Qi Qi.”

“What happened? What’s wrong?”

“Did someone bully you? Tell me, and I’ll get revenge for you right now.”

Looking up at the voice, Qi Fei saw Su Xiang squatting before her. In her eyes, he transformed into You You, and she immediately clung to Su Xiang, sobbing uncontrollably.

“Come on, tell me what happened.” Su Xiang was utterly flustered by her tears.

She had been fine just yesterday; how could she fall apart in a single day?

Only when Qi Fei calmed down a little did Su Xiang speak again:

“Don’t want to talk?”

Qi Fei nodded.

“All right, if you don’t want to say, then you don’t have to.”

---

“Let’s go to the hospital.”

On the way, Qi Fei was drenched in cold sweat, her face etched with pain. It seemed that not doing a stomach lavage would have serious consequences.

By the time they reached the hospital, Qi Fei was completely unconscious.

After the operation, when Su Xiang was finally discharged, he breathed a sigh of relief. Hearing the doctor’s words made him break into a cold sweat—it was fortunate they had brought her in time; she had almost suffered a stomach perforation.

Once Qi Fei fell asleep, Su Xiang quickly sent a message in the group to reassure everyone.

When Qi Fei woke up in the late night, the first thing she saw was two people standing and sitting beside her bed.

“Why are you here?”

Her memory stopped at sending away Zhou Ying; she had no recollection of what happened afterward.

“Qi Qi, you nearly died in my club. How could I not come?” Yu Tao was startled when he received the call from the club.

His phone was on silent because of some work, so he hadn’t heard it ring. By the time he finished, Qi Fei had already been sent to the hospital.

“You’re the one who almost died! Tsk, tsk, tsk.”

Su Xiang rolled his eyes at Yu Tao, then turned to Qi Fei, worry softening his voice. “Did something happen? Do you need help?”

Qi Fei had already come out of her emotional turmoil and didn’t want them to worry.

She smiled lightly, the picture of ease belying her earlier breakdown.

“Don’t worry, nothing serious.”

“I’m just mentally fragile. I suddenly collapsed.”

If Su Xiang hadn’t seen Qi Fei’s state with his own eyes, he might have believed her.

Both men looked helpless. Since Qi Fei didn’t want to talk, pressing her further was pointless.

As Tong Sheng arrived outside the ward, he saw Qi Fei chatting and laughing with the two, hesitated, then turned and left the hospital.

As long as she was okay.

Yu Tao stayed a while after seeing Qi Fei was fine, then left. The explosive situation was now in the hands of the authorities, and with Su Xiang here, Qi Fei was safe.

No unusual activity appeared online by morning, so Su Xiang finally relaxed. After all, he was the one who carried Qi Fei into the hospital. If the paparazzi had caught that, who knew what rumors would have spread?

He was fine, but Qi Fei’s side had just settled down from a storm, and the paparazzi revealing her romantic involvement now would be nothing good.

In the afternoon, when he heard Qi Fei was to be discharged, Su Xiang’s brow furrowed again.

Though a stomach lavage wasn’t a major surgery, it did take a toll on the body. She had rested less than a day and was already leaving?

“No, stay two more days for observation.”

“I’m fine. No need.”

Seeing Su Xiang’s stubborn expression, Qi Fei quickly explained, “The filming schedules for the web drama and the next project overlap.”

“Finishing early means I don’t have to run back and forth—it’s exhausting.”
