At this point, Jian Suishan had already taken a break; now, he was tidying his clothes as he strode briskly forward. However, when he saw Shen Feiyu standing by the Maybach’s door, he paused momentarily—he already recognized whose car it was. But the hesitation was brief, and he quickly approached the Cullinan bearing the tri-region license plates.

The driver opened the door, and Shen Suinian, with his long legs, stepped out, immediately receiving Jian Suishan’s warm and attentive welcome. “Suinian, I thought I must have been mistaken when I suddenly got your message. Come on, let’s go inside.”

Jian Tang, who was just about to get out of the car, looked at Shen Suinian in shock and confusion.

Why was he doing this?

Everyone said that the Prince of Harbor City was cold and detached by nature. Even if his own blood relatives performed death-defying stunts before him, he would remain expressionless. So why insist on exposing her private affairs now?

That day at Xiangshan No. 1, hadn’t they agreed to mind their own business?

“Jian Tang! The elder has already gotten out of the car, what are you still putting on airs for? Should I invite you out as well?” Jian Suishan’s gaze swept over Jian Tang, who was still sitting inside the car, and he scolded her sternly.

Jian Tang pursed her lips, staring fixedly as Shen Suinian stepped down.

Sensing her gaze, Shen Suinian met it calmly. “Got something to say?”

Jian Tang was speechless.

Jian Suishan’s suspicious eyes flickered briefly.

Inside the Maybach, Chen Bozhou had nowhere to back down. If he continued to refuse to get out, it would only confirm suspicions.

When Chen Bozhou finally stepped out, Shen Feiyu nervously fiddled with her fingers, frequently glancing at him.

The future brother-in-law and the little aunt returning to the father-in-law’s house together at such an hour—it was an unusual scene from any perspective.

Jian Suishan, already showing signs of graying at the temples, cast a sidelong glance with a dark expression. “What’s going on here...?”

Jian Tang kept her head down, her mind racing. She pondered over and over how, if the matter of Chen Bozhou’s infidelity with Shen Feiyu were to be publicly exposed today, she could stealthily take the remaining inheritance at the last moment without anyone noticing.

After much consideration and weighing all options, she concluded that the matter had to be suppressed today.

Otherwise, Jian Suishan would never let her off, and Chen Bozhou’s nature would certainly devise every possible means to trap her within this prison.

Such a thing must never happen.

Jian Suishan asked, “Bozhou, why are you with Feiyu so late at night?”

Chen Bozhou nervously glanced at Jian Tang, who kept her head lowered and silent.

Shen Feiyu’s eyes flickered, and she blushed shyly. “Dad, Bozhou and I... actually—”

“I had to go to the school last minute to handle graduation documents; Shen Feiyu went to check the wedding venue for me. It got late, so Bozhou... just gave her a ride back,” Chen Bozhou cut in smoothly.

No one expected Jian Tang to suddenly speak up, and the excuse was perfectly timed.

Seizing the moment to expose everything, Shen Feiyu clenched her fists tightly.

Shen Suinian’s narrow eyes slightly narrowed.

Chen Bozhou looked at Jian Tang, who trusted him unconditionally, and firmly held her hand.

Jian Suishan smiled. “So that’s how it is. Alright, don’t stand outside anymore. Suinian, come inside. Rest here today; I’ve arranged a guest room. And please make sure to send Tang Tang home.”

Shen Suinian’s expression remained cold and indifferent. “No need. I still have some time.”

Jian Suishan was about to flatter him, but Shen Suinian had already gotten in the car and left.

It was the last day of May.

Only two days remained until the wedding, and it was the day before the graduation ceremony.

Chen Bozhou took Jian Tang to meet his close group of friends for a farewell dinner. Although called a farewell dinner, it was essentially a gathering of second-generation wealthy heirs.

Their family backgrounds and spending habits were vastly different from those of an ordinary student living on two thousand yuan a month, so over the four years of university, they had formed a tightly knit circle.

Jian Tang was reluctant to mingle too much with these privileged heirs but could not resist Chen Bozhou’s persistent coaxing, so she agreed to come along.

As soon as they approached, Jian Tang heard the ambiguous teasing laughter of men and women from a semi-private room.

Looking inside, she saw that each of the heirs had a scantily dressed woman in their arms, feeding them drinks and flattering them.

Jian Tang froze and intended to leave.

Chen Bozhou’s face darkened. Sensing his change in expression, the heirs quickly got up and chased away their companions.

“Everyone clear out, don’t be an eyesore here.”

The women wisely disappeared within a minute.

The room returned to silence, and a few of the heirs linked arms and shoulders to escort Jian Tang and Chen Bozhou to their seats.

“Bozhou, Tang Tang, don’t be so serious. Alright, we know you two keep yourselves pure. This is just to kill time while waiting. Come on, have a seat.”

Chen Bozhou glanced at Jian Tang. Seeing she wasn’t displeased, he pulled her in.

The heirs teased, “Not even married yet and already living by the wife’s mood?”

Chen Bozhou pushed away a hand reaching to grab his shoulder. “That’s just the awareness of a married man. What do you know?”

“Whoa, whoa, what did I just hear? Married man? Don’t flatter yourself,” the teasing was cut short by Chen Bozhou’s deadly glare, silencing the speaker.

Drinking was inevitable at such gatherings, and Chen Bozhou and Jian Tang were no exception.

Chen Bozhou stopped it all. “Tang Tang doesn’t touch alcohol; I’ll be taking her home later. No one drinks today.”

He never left Jian Tang’s side, forbidding drinks for everyone and even shooting a cold glare at anyone lighting a cigarette. “Tang Tang hates the smell of smoke.”

Someone suggested playing games, but Chen Bozhou frowned. “Tang Tang doesn’t like noisy things.”

Seeing him veto all the entertainment, the heirs were speechless.

Jian Tang picked up an orange. “I’m fine; you guys go ahead.”

Her words revived the nearly cold atmosphere, but Chen Bozhou, fearing she’d be bored, refrained from joining the games and focused on peeling fruit and feeding her.

The heirs clicked their tongues in admiration. “No wonder you’re marrying young; you’ve really got a devoted lapdog.”

Chen Bozhou laughed and playfully hit someone. “I’m willing. You guys envy me for having a wife, you lonely dogs.”

Watching their banter, Jian Tang, exhausted, decided to leave early, citing the need to rest.

Chen Bozhou stopped peeling fruit and immediately said, “I’ll take you home.”

A few heirs quickly blocked him. “Hey, hey, hey, Miss Jian is going home to beautify her sleep and be the most beautiful bride. How can you just leave now?”

“Yeah, the real fun hasn’t even started yet.”

Under their persuasion, Chen Bozhou wavered. Jian Tang interjected appropriately, “You stay. I’ll message you when I get home.”

Chen Bozhou checked the time, thinking it wasn’t too late, then nodded. “Alright. Call me immediately if anything happens.”

Jian Tang left the club alone. As she reached the street corner to hail a taxi, a staff member stopped her and handed her a phone. “Miss Jian, someone asked me to show you this surveillance.”

Before she could ask what footage it was, the attendant left after placing the phone in her hand.

Looking down, Jian Tang saw the footage was from the very private room she had just left.

The moment she stepped away, the heirs inside visibly relaxed.

In the next instant, the door was pushed open from outside, and then a familiar figure fell into Chen Bozhou’s arms.

The heirs showed no surprise at the scene; instead, they cheered, “Bozhou, now that Feiyu’s here, we can finally play the kind of games adults should play.”

“Yeah, no more playing house. Let’s go all out!”

Shen Feiyu nestled in Chen Bozhou’s arms. “Bozhou, look at them, so annoying.”

Chen Bozhou raised an eyebrow, pinching her waist and teasingly nudging her with his knee. “You little minx, you just love playing with fire, don’t you?”

Everyone laughed heartily until someone, drinking, sighed, “If only Jian Tang could loosen up…”

Before the words were finished, Chen Bozhou’s expression darkened. “What the hell are you saying? My Tang Tang doesn’t need to loosen up. If any of you so much as try to cause trouble in front of her, you’re no longer my brother!”

“Alright, alright, calm down. It was just a passing comment. We all know you treat Jian Tang like your precious jewel. As for you and Feiyu, I’m sure you’ve kept everything well hidden.”

Listening to the laughter through the phone, Jian Tang numbly turned off the screen.

At that moment, her phone rang. It was the lawyer. “Miss Jian, the property settlement has been completed.”
