Dearest Sister:

When you read this letter, it means you have arrived at my home. I have some urgent matters to attend to lately and cannot be with you at all times, so you must strictly follow the rules below to ensure you spend this time safely and happily.

I. About the House
1. This house has three floors; you will stay in the south-facing room on the second floor. Remember, never go to the third floor after 10:00 PM, no matter what sounds you hear; treat them as if you heard nothing. The door to the third floor is usually locked. If you ever find it open, move away immediately and call me at the first opportunity. My phone number is [Specific Number], and it is on 24 hours a day—do not worry about disturbing me.
2. The television in the living room may turn on by itself when no one is watching. This is normal; do not panic, and do not try to turn it off. However, if a faceless human countenance appears on the screen, close your eyes immediately, walk backward out of the living room until you feel your back touch the wall, then open your eyes, quickly return to your room, cover your head with a blanket, and stay that way until dawn.
3. The bathroom mirror is quite old and may appear somewhat blurry. If you see a figure in the mirror that does not belong to you, do not panic; blink slowly three times and look at the mirror again. The figure should disappear. If it does not, do not go to sleep that night; sit on your bed with the lights on and wait for me to return. I will handle the matter once I am home.

II. About Food
1. The kitchen refrigerator is stocked with various foods; feel free to take what you need. However, never open the black box on the bottom shelf. No matter how curious you are, you must restrain yourself. That box is used for storing special items, and opening it may invite unfortunate events.
2. Every morning, you will find a fresh glass of milk and a piece of bread on the dining table. This is breakfast I have prepared for you; it is safe to eat. But if you ever find other items on the table—especially things that look like animal viscera—do not touch them. Place them in a black garbage bag, leave it by the door, and call me to report it.
3. There is a small convenience store near my house where you can buy snacks and daily necessities. Remember, do not visit that store after 8:00 PM. To my knowledge, some rather unusual customers tend to appear there after that hour. If you see someone in the store wearing all-black clothing and a large black hat that obscures their entire face, do not make eye contact, do not approach them, and finish your checkout and leave as quickly as possible.

III. About Pets
1. I keep a lovely cat named Mimi. She is usually gentle and wanders around the house. You may play with her, but do not interact with her after midnight. Mimi becomes somewhat strange after midnight; she may stare at a specific spot without moving or emit odd sounds. When this happens, simply return to your room and lock the door.
2. Mimi’s bowl is in the corner of the kitchen. You must add food and water every morning and night. Do not feed her anything other than her cat food, especially human foods like chocolate or onions, as these are lethal to her.

3. If you find that Mimi is missing, do not rush out to look for her. First, search the house carefully to see if she is hiding in a corner. If you cannot find her in the house, sit on the living room sofa, close your eyes, and silently recite "Mimi, come back" three times. Open your eyes, and Mimi should be in front of you. If she does not appear after three recitations, call me immediately, and I will return to handle it.

IV. About Neighbors
1. Our neighbor is a kind old lady who occasionally stops by. If she knocks, you may open the door to let her in, but do not chat for too long. She sometimes says strange things, such as mentioning people you have never met or telling odd stories about this house; simply smile and nod, and do not show excessive curiosity.
2. If you encounter other neighbors in the hallway, do not initiate conversation. If they speak to you, respond politely with a word or two, then return to your home as soon as possible. I am not very close with these neighbors, so keep your distance to avoid unnecessary trouble.
3. Do not look out the window at the neighbor's yard at night. I have heard that strange lights and shadows sometimes appear there. While I do not know if it is true, it is better to avoid looking for your own safety.

V. About Going Out
1. You may go for walks during the day, but do not wander too far; try to stay within the vicinity of my house. I have set up navigation on your phone; you can check your location at any time to ensure you do not get lost.
2. If you encounter a woman in a white dress with long hair covering her face, ignore her regardless of what she says and turn toward a crowded area. If she continues to follow you, cry out for help; the local residents will assist you.
3. Do not go out after 6:00 PM. The situation outside is complicated, and I worry about you. If you have not returned home by 6:00 PM, find a safe place, such as a nearby convenience store or police station, stay there, and call me. I will come to get you.

VI. About Sleeping
1. You must be in bed by 10:00 PM every night. Before sleeping, ensure the room windows are closed and the door is locked. Do not leave even the slightest gap; this is very important.
2. If you dream of a strange man chasing you and trying to catch you, do your absolute best to run away in the dream and do not let him catch you. When you wake up in a fright, turn on every light in the room, go to the living room to pour a glass of water, and sit on the sofa until dawn.
3. Sometimes, you may feel the presence of others in the room even when you cannot see them. Do not be afraid; take the amulet I placed under your pillow, hold it tightly in your hand, and silently recite, "Sister, protect me," until the strange sensation fades.

Things Outside the Rules
It has been three days since I arrived at my sister's house, and I have strictly followed the rules she left behind. I have been living a routine life, and nothing strange has happened.

This morning, I woke up as usual and went to the kitchen for breakfast. While passing through the living room, I glanced at the TV, and it had turned on by itself, showing only static. I didn't pay much attention and continued to the kitchen.

After finishing breakfast, I planned to read in the living room. As soon as I walked in, I heard a strange sound coming from the TV, like someone sobbing in a low voice. Instinctively, I looked at the screen and saw a faceless human countenance slowly emerging, twisting and writhing toward me.

My heart tightened. Remembering my sister's rules, I immediately closed my eyes and walked backward out of the living room. Once my back hit the wall, I opened my eyes, turned around, and ran to my room as fast as I could. I covered my head with my blanket, my body trembling uncontrollably.

I don't know how much time passed before I heard soft footsteps outside the door, followed by a gentle knock. "Sister, are you in there?"

It was my sister's voice! Like clutching a lifeline, I threw off the blanket, opened the door, and threw myself into her arms.

Under her comfort, I gradually calmed down. She told me she had returned because she felt something might have gone wrong at home, so she finished her business early and rushed back.
