Chapter 63: Brother Ming Didn't Do It? He Did!
"Wu, you Chinese men are truly the most boring creatures alive!"
Natasha slammed her hand dramatically onto the table, startling everyone nearby.
Wu Yanni stared at her in utter bewilderment. "W-what does that mean?"
In her heart, she had already assumed that Wang Xiaoming and the Natasha before her had spent a passionate night together.
Yet seeing Natasha's current expression, things seemed rather different from what she had imagined.
With Natasha looking so deeply disappointed, could it possibly be—
"Wang Xiaoming, is he actually no good?" Compared to Xia Shining, Wu Yanni possessed a somewhat more outgoing personality.
After a brief internal struggle, the words slipped right past her lips.
The moment she spoke, however, she immediately clamped both hands over her mouth.
Her face flushed bright red as she looked at Xia Shining and Natasha, completely at a loss.
How could she have actually voiced her inner thoughts aloud!
What must the two of them think of her now!
Natasha, meanwhile, looked completely blank, having understood not a single word of what Wu Yanni had just said.
As for Xia Shining, she gave a slight nod, quickly recovering her composure and pretending she hadn't heard a thing.
Inwardly, though, she was giving Wu Yanni a mental thumbs-up.
You little girl, truly living up to your reputation! You're the only one brave enough to ask such a question!
"No good? What isn't any good?" Natasha blinked her large eyes, though she didn't really care about that particular mystery.
Instead, she waved her hands dismissively at the two women and shook her head with a look of indignant accusation. "Hey, Wu, Xia, are all men in your country so utterly devoid of romance?"
"I made a date with Wang Xiaoming, fully intending to share an unforgettable night with him, but him?"
At this, Natasha puffed out her cheeks and crossed her arms.
Though she stood a full one meter seventy tall, Wu Yanni and Xia Shining somehow managed to find her adorable!
Upon reflection, this Natasha person seemed considerably younger than them—her mature appearance was merely an illusion!
Wait, wait, wait. Now was hardly the time to ponder Natasha's exact age; they needed to focus on what she was saying!
"Natasha, y-you mean Wang Xiaoming went to see you last night and didn't do anything at all?"
"We did!"
"You did?"
"We didn't!"
"Did you or did you not do anything?"
"We did things, but we didn't *do* things!"
"..."
"All night, he put me through the wringer for an entire night, purely to pick my brains about track and field techniques! How foolish I was, thinking that once the consultation was over, we'd share an unforgettable night. But what did he do? This man actually turned right around and walked straight back to his dorm!"
Through Natasha's vivid and expressive performance, the two women finally learned the whole story.
As it turned out, Wang Xiaoming had indeed gone to see Natasha last night, and he had indeed kept her busy all night long.
It was just that the entire night had been spent discussing track and field training methods with her.
Hearing this, Wu Yanni and Xia Shining suddenly burst into a chorus of giggles.
"I never knew Wang Xiaoming could be so amusing!"
"Amusing?" Natasha stared at them in absolute horror. "What part of that is amusing? How on earth is that amusing!"
She immediately launched into an eight-hundred-word tirade against Wang Xiaoming.
"He's simply not human, he's not human at all..."
Noticing that everyone around them was starting to stare, the two women quickly grabbed Natasha and pulled her out of the restaurant.
"By the way, Natasha, apart from all that, was there really nothing else?"
"I wish there had been something else..."
"Tell us more..."
Following this little episode, the three women seemed to have instantly transformed into inseparable best friends!
All the way down the path, they chattered about everything under the sun—from lipstick to smartphones, from phones to designer handbags, from the heavens to the earth.
While Wu Yanni's group was deep in lively conversation, not far away at the United States swimming team's quarters, a crowd had gathered around two individuals, listening intently as they spoke in measured tones.
"That's right, Wang Xiaoming actually spent the entire night over at that French girl Natasha's place!"
"You mean to say..." Hearing this, the coach of the United States swimming team immediately felt a plan taking shape in his mind.
"Young and full of vigor after all. I told you, this Wang Xiaoming couldn't possibly be without weaknesses! Heh heh heh."
Seeing the grin on their coach's face, several of the American athletes felt a sudden chill run straight down their spines.
"Coach, have you been watching too many Chinese dramas?" one of the female swimmers, Carly Allen, asked tentatively.
Little did she know, she would have been better off staying quiet. Her words instantly drew the coach's undivided attention.
Worse still, his intensely predatory gaze began scanning up and down her curvaceous figure.
This made Carly deeply uncomfortable, and she shifted uncomfortably, trying to change her position.
To her dismay, this movement only made the coach's eyes light up even more.
"Good, good, good, marvelous, marvelous. I've decided—it'll be you, Carly!"
"Huh?"
Completely clueless as to what was happening, Carly only knew that she was about to face something terrifying.
An inexplicable wave of dread surged into her heart.
Then, amidst the stunned gazes of everyone present, the American coach slowly walked up behind Carly.
*Thud.* A pair of heavy hands landed heavily upon Carly's shoulders.
Instantly, Carly shuddered from head to toe. "Coach, w-what are you trying to do..."
The coach slowly squatted down, leaning his entire body in close to Carly.
Then, he murmured softly into her ear: "Carly, coach has always treated you pretty well, hasn't he?"
"C-coach, yes, you have."
"Well then, this time, it's time for you to make a little contribution!"
"But Coach, w-with so many people watching, isn't, isn't that a bit inappropriate..."
"Inappropriate? What's inappropriate about it? The more people who see, the more excited I get!"
"But Coach..."
"There are no 'buts'. Right now, go change your clothes—put on your sexiest outfit!"
Today marked the final two events of the swimming competition.
Both were long-distance events: one a 1500-meter race, and the other an open-water swimming marathon.
Without exception, both events served as grueling tests of the competitors' sheer endurance.
Slip up even slightly, and you would quickly find yourself left far behind.
Regrettably, China's historical results in these two particular events had always been far from ideal.
Yet this year, everyone held immense hopes because a dark horse named Wang Xiaoming had emerged from nowhere.
At that very moment, however, Wang Xiaoming was fast asleep in his dormitory.
"Brother Ming, we're heading over to the venue for training first. We'll go straight to the competition arena when the time comes—don't sleep through it!" A group of Chinese swimming team members gathered together and departed for the training hall.
Wang Xiaoming merely mumbled a vague acknowledgment and promptly drifted back to sleep.
He couldn't help it; last night had truly been rather exhausting!
Just as he was drifting back into a deep sleep, a crisp knock suddenly sounded at his door.
Still half-asleep, Wang Xiaoming slowly pushed himself up and opened the door.
A blinding beam of sunlight pierced into the room, causing Wang Xiaoming to blink open his eyes before hastily squeezing them shut again.
"Good grief, I must have gotten up too abruptly—why are there two suns at the doorway?"
